LEARN HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Suppose you're going home (alone of course),

after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!!

NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE..

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.
In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

One can reduce risk of heart attack...

    Good information Vikas Bhai!

I want to add few lines...

A person can reduce the risk of heart attack by adopting following points:

    1. Not smoking.
    2. Losing access weight.
    3. Doing regular physical activities. (for example 30 minutes at least five days a week.)
    4. Eating low fat, high fibre diet.
    5. Avoid alcohol.

Even if a person have previously had a heart attack, these measures can still reduce the chance of another attack...

"Brain-Blood clot, You could save a life”

    STROKE Or BRAIN ATTACK:
Stroke or Brain Attack is no joke, when someone is having what appears to be a stroke, every second counts. Discovery, diagnosis and treatment must begin immediately. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

    STROKE DEMONSTRATION:
I like to demonstrate with a Mock example: During a party, a friend Sameer stumbled and took a little fall – he assured everyone that he was fine and just tripped over a brick because of his new shoes. (they offered to call ambulance)

They got him cleaned up and got his a new plate of food - while he appeared a bit shaken up; Sameer went about enjoying himself the rest of the evening. Sameer wife called later telling everyone that his husband has been taken to the hospital - (later that day, Sameer passed away.)
He had suffered a stroke at the party . If any of his relatives or friends knows how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Sameer would be saved.

Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

    STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

A neurologist says that if a person can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

    RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.
The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE ..
T * = TALK. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLESENTENCE (Coherently) (eg 'It is sunny out today').
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is
    1. Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue.
    2. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.
Remember, we all stumble, every one of us.
That's why it's a comfort to go hand in hand.
    :D

more reliable signs of brain stroke(cerebro-vascular accident) that a normal person can understand:

    1) when a person tell u of sudden severe headache (thunderclap headache ,as some thunder has hit ) in back of head.

    2) followed by vomiting that can include blood

    3) and the person says that he/she cant see from one eye (rt/lt) or cant feel his arm(rt/lt)..in most cases its left

in short,if u find any person having sudden severe headache with vomting and loosing control of arm or sight..rush to nearby hospital without telling him do anything..its a case of CVA..on the way if u can arrange aspirin(used as painkiller) give him without consulting any doctor.
We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have already done

my suggestion to all the old members of jatland who hv felt any kind of heart problem in past, please carry asprin and nitroglycerin tablets in ur pocket, both are very cheap drugs hardly one rupee per tablet but can be more useful than a doctor himself.

whenever u feel heartpain or any discomfort like pain with sweating quickly take both tablets.
swallow aspirin and put nitroglycerin under ur tongue. if u cant do, ask anyperson standing beside u to do it for u ,in worst condition if u cant even speak point ur finger towards pocket and then to ur mouth, the person will understand u hv to take those pills.

its success rate is 100%, it will be life saving for sure and u can escape a major heart attack or permanent damage to ur heart.

    nitroglycerin - angised 0.5 mg, 1 rupee/tab
    aspirin/aspent/aspin - 50/75/100mg, 20-30 paisa/tab
