You have raised very valid points.

I think whatever you learn during engineering has very little relevance to the skills required in the industry.

For example, a graduate passed from an engineering college requires further training by IT companies in order to work on projects.

The educational curriculam needs significant changes and it has to be dynamic. It must match with the skills required by the industry.

This is what is missing in my opinion in the engineering colleges.

Again, it depends upon what subjects and courses Uni's offer.

Uni's run by government becomes a victim of Red tape, unnecessary bureaucracy and lack of reforms.

First change this government model which is very outdated and low performer.

Unnecessary public servants must be fired( They are causing a big loss to state exchequer, equally dangerous as corruption) !!

The job protection given to public servants needs to be removed.

Also their automated promotion for no reason must be abolished!! (This system encourages high unaccountablility and low performance)

More accountability needs to be introduced in public sector.

Also doors must be open for private sector to take part in governance.

Currently government doors are shut for people in private to participate and contribute in governance!!

Read on Sanjeev's blog. Very true picture about government schools:

Despite the hype about promoting education, what the government is actually saying (by directly managing government schools) is this:

"You, Graduate of education, are a fool. You MUST work under bureaucratic supervision."

You may be BETTER qualified than me (IAS officer) but you MUST work under my thumb.

You must do what I say.

    You must report to me.

You are accountable to ME, not to parents.

You are my slave. You shall not exercise any independence.

You are a mere highly qualified graduate while I'm a BUREAUCRAT. Who can possibly be better than a bureaucrat?

    You must worship me.

    You must pray to me.

I don't trust you. You must trust in me.

Public schools, such a gross wastage of tax payers money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
