I found the article intriguing as to how much hi-tech SPG is and why does it protect PM, children, family of ex PMs and I believe that is what reporter wanted to convey too.

If you read carefully, the spending to protect our elite leaders has increased by 4 times since 2004(Since UPA came into power). However, I am pretty sure the spending to protect Indian Citizens has not gone up by 4 times. Are these politicians more important than people of country?

The other interesting thing to note SPG cover was withdrawn from former PM and their children. Why to provide security to Gandhi family(Family of former PM Rajiv Gandhi)? Desh mol le rakha sai ke innai..

42% of rapes relate to elopement of minor girls with lovers in Karnal

Karnal, October 11
While the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) data has put Karnal district on the top in the number of rape cases registered, it has come to light that more than 42 per cent of these cases pertain to the elopement of minor girls with their lovers and are not cases of forcible or gang rape.
Of the 40 rape cases registered in Karnal up to September this year, more than 17 are of elopement of minor girls with lovers.
So far as heinous crime was concerned, two cases of gang rape occurred in Karnal district this year, compared to four last year. Interestingly, in 15 cases, the girls later said that they had deserted their husbands as they were forced to marry or given some intoxicant. In most of the cases, the pressure of the parents on the girls was allegedly responsible for changing the statement.
Rape cases need a re-look as all the cases are not gang rape or forcible rape cases. Minors eloping with their lovers and having consensual sex cannot be treated on a par with rape, said AIDS activist Karan Sahu.
Superintendent of police, Karnal, Sushank Anand says that the numerical data might not present the true picture and nature of crime. In all cases, the accused is a person known to the girls. He said the women’s helpline was in place to cater 24x7.
A large number of NGOs and civil grievance committees are functional in the area to educate masses about evils in society and the registration of cases indicates the awareness level about female rights in the district and women feel empowered to report crime, he added. The high acquittal rate in rape cases which was 82 per cent till September last year, has gone up to 92 per cent during the current year and it raises a serious question that whether all such cases be registered under Section 376 and no distinction is made between heinous crime and consensual sex with minor girls.

इस फैसले मे सभी खापे शामिल नहीं थी इसमे खापों की तरफ से सिर्फ महम चौबीसी के चौधरी रणधीर सिंह थे बाकी के सब स्वयंभू खाप प्रधान थे व सभी एक ही राजनीतिक दल से संबंध रखते हैं , और आज चौधरी रणधीर सिंह ने भी इस फैसले से किनारा कर लिया | जहा तक़ मेरी सोच हैं तो असल मे इस फैसले के पीछे सोच कुछ और थी जो की पूरी नहीं हो पाई , इस फैसले मे कांग्रेस राज की तुलना मुग़ल काल से करने की थी पर मीडिया ने इनके कम उम्र वाले फैसले को पकड़ लिया | इसी कारण आज चौटाला को भी अपना ब्यान वापिस लेना पड़ा |

लड़कियों व महिलाओं पर बढ़ते अत्याचार के बाद उठे लड़कियों की शादी की उम्र घटाने के विवाद में परमार खाप 84 भी उतर आई है। खाप की बैठक में उम्र घटाने का विरोध किया गया तथा अब तक के आरोपियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की गई। परमार खाप 84 हरियाणा प्रदेश कार्यकारिणी की बैठक खाप प्रधान राजेंद्र सिंह परमार की अध्यक्षता में हुई। बैठक में प्रदेश में महिलाओं पर बढ़ रहे अत्याचार, गैंग रेप, यौन उत्पीडऩ पर रोष जताते हुए आरोपियों को जल्द गिरफ्तार कर कड़ी सजा देने की मांग की गई। आरोपियों को बचा रहे हैं वक्ताओं ने कहा कि जो लोग लड़कियों की शादी की उम्र घटाने की मांग कर रहे है वे आरोपियों को बचाने का प्रयास कर रहे है। महिला चाहे एक साल की हो या 100 साल की, उन पर अत्याचार तो अत्याचार ही होता है। वक्ताओं ने समाज में गिरी नैतिकता के लिए टीवी, इंटरनेट, सिनेमा, कुछ पत्र पत्रिकाओं मं अश्लील चित्रों व लेखन को बताया तथा इनका प्रचार बंद करने की मांग की। बैठक में आह्वान किया कि सभी खापे मिलकर इस बुराई को दूर करने के लिए ठोस नीति बनाए तथा गांवों में प्रचार करें। बैठक में वेदपाल सिंह, महेंद्र सिंह, विक्रम सिंह परमार, कप्तान प्रेमपाल सिंह, सरपंच विनोद कुमार परमार, डा. कृष्ण कुमार परमार, ललता सिंह, धर्मपाल सिंह, मुकेश परमार, सुखपाल सिंह, भानू सिंह, बल्लू शर्मा आदि मौजूद थे।

sir all over UK/US/Europe, legal marriage age with consent of parents is 16 years, itself then why not make a similar cartoon on them too or is it just because this suggestion coming from Khaps? They have proposed bottom line for marriage age not the upper line...where we do eat their style, live their style, entertain in there style only, then what is the problem if we get their customs also here no.....same incident saw in Amir' Satyamev Jayate program, on which I needed to made a video too.....

I am in agreement with your views and in my opinion also there is nothing wrong in reducing the marriage age to 16 years but of course with the consent of the bride. As such in remote areas people are doing that .Who is stopping them and checking the birth certificate before marriage ?. Secondly as you said it is fixing of bottom line age of marriage and not necessarily every one should marry their daughter at 16 years.

It may not stop or reduce such incidences but definitely provide a legal option to some needy parents.

Strict steps at the level of law enforcing agencies and vigilance at grass roots level with change in mind set of the males towards women can only tackle the problem. Khaps can play constructive role in the matter of arousing social consciousness among the members of the society and extend co operation to law enforcing agencies in bringing the culprits to book.
