So far we have framed policies on two issues:

I think I have a suggestion over a significantly important issue !!

Before finally imposing a Ban on any Jatland member, a thread must and should be initiated by the Forum leaders, and the member must and should be given at-least a time of 7 working days, to explain his view-points in his defence, on the issuue over which the specific member is about to be Banned; as there must be significant isuue(s) for such an extreme actions by the moderators !!

I AM suggesting so because We are emotionally attached with a number of people out here, and there must and should be an open debate first, before any such extreme action. And, all the members at Jatland must and should be allowed and encouraged to comment in the thread !!

I AM suggesting kind of a Panchayat (that should at-least have patience for 7 working days) should be help to come-up with a conclusive result and outcomes; the Forum leaders being the Panchs, and of-course, the webmaster being the Sarpanch !!

And, I AM expecting a few "Likes" over this post and comments from the Panchs and Sarpanch !!

Yes Dear Sir, it's definitely a worthy suggestion !!

Reaching a consensus over the issue by the open participation of the members and than Voting may well help develop understanding between the people out here !!

If this is for Raka then I dont think they would ban Raka unless he ask for self ban

Members should be restricted from writing new posts first for one day, then subsequently for 3 and 7 days before putting a complete ban.

Building consensus is not practical in public forums where active and inactive members keep on changing very frequently.

One approach could that an "Request remove ban" button can be put on the banned member's profile and if X% (say 10%) of the week's active members put these requests then the vote thread can be started for others to vote.
If the votes cross a thresh hold limit (Z% of votes) then the moderators should remove ban unless there has been a very serious breach of the policy.

Folks,
When we ban a member, we give it a lot of thought. It's not done in haste. Usually, these things can be very embarrassing if discussed in front of thousands of members for the person who is getting the ban or even worse, for other people who may have been victims of his abuse. There is absolutely NO way that we are going to embarrass members like this by bringing out the private details in public. Furthermore, bans are done for various reasons and a lot of times, the member themselves want a ban (ex. Raka). I don't see any reason why we should have a vote by other members if one member wants to leave.

Members can be banned by Admins as suggested by Satyeshwar. There should be an option to appeal by the members before the Jat Panchayat of Jatland. Jat Panchayat can decide the appeal by Majority.
