Rajpalji, i think you were too happy at Abhay becoming president that is why asked Saharan1628 to enjoy Ladoos. I'm just surprised at this as this news came before he is yet to take over official from 5th. What will happen when he actually takes over

Rajpal ji, are you saying it isn't sad to see another politician take over Indian sports highest governing body? Especially when known corrupt people are in his team? True, Choutala may not be as bad as Kalmadi, but we have seen how politicians have ruined sports in our country. So it isnt a reason to rejoice.
I know we all (including me) have soft corners for our tribesmen, but sometimes a spade has to be called spade.
It isn't about future course of events. We have already seen plenty of devastating effects of politicians governing sports. And knowing the current state of sports, it doesn't take a fortune teller to spell doom.

Friend,
Your fear of anticipating a doom in the field of sports in the country under Mr. Chautala (who is not fluent in English as quoted by you in one of your earlier posts) seems to be founded on theoretical notions only as he has already left a stamp of his sports leadership qualities and proved his capability in this field by leading the Boxing Association from the front and the results are there for everyone to see.
Moreover, since Mr. Chautala has been elected unanimously to the highest post by the representatives of various sports bodies of the country out of the contestants for the post, at least, I do not see any reason to doubt their wisdom in doing so because if he and his group were not elected to that august body some other similar situated group of political leaders were there to be elected. Then what is harm if he and his team have arrived at the helm of affairs.
If the overhauling of sports administration/association/organisations is undertaken for betterment of the sports and sports persons, we shall welcome it. But that seems to be a far cry in view of the present state of affairs. But the question is who will bell the proverbial cat. Perhaps none!
Thanks and regards,

Rajpal ji, as previously mentioned, I am skeptical of politicians taking over sports. But please share resources on Abhay Chautala's able leadership in boxing. I didn't come across any news article praising his leadership. Maybe I missed a few, so please share any such articles or incidents in support of your notion.
And to clarify, this isn't just about Chautala winning. Any politician, and especially one with Kalmadi support should be seen with suspicion.

Friend,
Everyone has his likes and dislikes and I like that you do not want to hide your disliking !
Many boxers have won laurels for India in the International competitions like ASIAD, Common wealth games and even in Olympics under the leadership of Mr. Chautala as National President of this stream of sports.
It is up to the journalists either to write or black list his contribution on that count.
Thanks

Jaisingh ji, main garmiyon mein Tau Devilal mein regularly football khelta tha.Agar aap mante hain ki choutala ka bada yogdan tha to next time zaroor puchoonga.
Rajpal ji, Haryanas boxing acheivements are indeed laudable but how much of that is talent and how much is Chautala's leadership? To quote you an eg. Vijay Amritraj, in his autobiography, mentions how the then head of tennis assoc made life difficult for him and took all the credit. Yet now the same admin has a stadium in his honor in Delhi known as the R K Khanna stadium. And with media being so active, we should have heard about his leadership. In todays world of TV, no politician leaves a moment of self publicity.
Anyways as none of us can prove anything here, I should probably lay the matter to rest. Lets see how the future unfolds. Chautala is the head now with a known corrupt coterie. Lets hope Indian sports takes a turn for the better even though odds are stacked against it.

So,
We have caliber to see a shameful defeat of Mr. Sushil Kumar(Wrestler & Olympic Bronze Medal Winner-2012) against Kalmadi or Vijay Kumar Malhotra or Ranbir Mahendra or Lalu Prasad Yadav or Mr. Abhay Singh Choutala or Anurag Thakur? What a brave blood we have!

Things just got worse!
AIBA suspends Indian boxing federation
NEW DELHI: The International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) suspended the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) provisionally for possible manipulation of its elections.
AIBA had learned about possible manipulation of the recent IABF election, a body ruled by Abhay Singh Chautala for years.
The international boxing association raised serious concerns over the re-entry of Chautala in the Indian boxing federation.
At its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in September, the Indian body amended its constitution to accommodate Chautala who had completed his tenure as the president.
AIBA will now investigate this election and especially a potential political link between Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president, as former chairman of the IABF, and the IABF election.
With the IABF provisionally suspended will now Chautala's candidature as the IOA President become invalid but more worrying is the future of Indian boxers who may no longer get to participate in world events under the tri colour.

The IABF had elected BJP MLA Abhishek Singh Matoria as its president in its Annual General meeting in September this year with Chautala, the incumbent, elevated as chairman. The body had made amendments to its constitution to accommodate Chautala, creating the new post in a meeting.
Interestingly Abhishek Singh Matoria is brother in law of Abhay Singh Chautala, those who blame politics of family should pay attention to this fact.

I do not contest what you say, however, permit me to add that it was a cumulative achievement of the participants, Haryana and the Nation under the leadership of the concerned association.
A silver line emerges in the history of IOA as its EC meeting took two of the following decisions to involve sports persons in decision making:
1. Sports persons consultative committee consisting of PT Usha, Pulia Gopi Chand and Dilip Tirkey has been formed to address the problems of the athletes.
2. Athlete Commission consisting of nine prominent athletes with Gurbachan Singh as President. Other members are : Wilson Cherian, Karanam Maleshwari, Manjit Dua, Jatinder Singh, Aprana Popat, Anuj Kumar, two more members to be added from the Lawn Tennis and Archery field.
It is also reported that IOA is going to meet Secretary Sports Govt of India to sort out the problem that the country is facing due to suspension order passed by the IOA.
Hope for better days for the Indian sports in future with the help of all concerned !
Thanks,
