    Short Service Commission as Pilot/Observer in Indian Navy

    Application are invited from unmarried Indian citizens [men and women both] to join the Indian Navy as short service commissioned officers in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for course commencing June 2014 at the Indian Naval academy, Ezhimala, Kerala.

    Navy's good..promotions are much faster than Army... So, go for it.
    But due to shortage of officers, workload is high. I would say, more or less same as we civilian salaried folks.
    Conversion ratio from SSC to PC is less, but prospects after short service are better, if you manage to get into branchs like (Eg.Navigation, Communication, Hydrography, pilot among Executive branch.. and off course all time hit Engineering branch (naval architecture & electrical).


    But for those seeking a long term career with the Navy, Gunnery & Missiles, Navigation & submarine will make more sense.

    As after a rank of Commander, guys from rest branch get off from onboard and get administration assignment... Naval dockyards.
