I think this NCBC rejection should be taken as a lesson and a challenge by the community.

Our community needs a much wider and influential role in the decision making process in the country. This can be achieved through having leaders/politicians occupying key portfolios in the govt., top bureaucrats and industrialists. Not to forget the lower echelons of the govt. including the clerical and lower level staff as well.

Hence, we don't only need to be the decision makers but also the ones who execute the decisions. The decision of NCBC is totally biased and prejudiced against the Jats. They have purposely ignored the social backwardness among Jats, a situation which is turning from bad to worse in light of decreasing landholdings, educated lot not finding employment, etc. etc. Pick up any merit list in central/state govt. selections and Jats just seem to a few blips here and there on the radar. There will be good number of Yadavs, Sainis besides of course Punjabis and baniyas.

How many Chief Justices, Service Chiefs, Cabinet secretaries, Home Secretaries have been Jats?? NONE. Our representation has been nil and the spheres in which it existed, it has decreased tremendously over the years/decades.

Where ever FAIRNESS in selection process is there you will find name of a JAT included there, its as simple as that.

So whatever you do, bring openness , transparency , reasoning , questioning & a rebellion out of you.

after reading whole thread i did not find any jat advocate who have shed any light on jat reservation shame.is this reservation contitutional or uncontutional.if its passed my majorty then it should not be any problem.if any one challeges resrvation to jat(which no one is going to do that)if they do they are challanging whole process of reservation and they are also chalnging fundanmantel right of equaltity guartteed by our constitutution.pardon me if i said wrong and correctt me brothers thanks

castes and communities included in both the lists in the report of the Mandal Commission and the Lists of the State
Governments were notified in respect of 26 States and Union Territories vide Resolutions by the Ministry of Welfare
as specified in Annexure-I;
And whereas, the National Commission for Backward Classes (hereinafter referred to as the Commission)
constituted under section 3 of the National Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1993 (27 of 1993) has been
empowered under sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Act to examine requests for inclusion of any class of citizens as
backward class in the lists and hear complaints of over-inclusion or under-inclusion of any backward class in such lists
and tender such advice to the Central Government as it deems appropriate;
And whereas, the said Common Central List has been amended, on the recommendations of the Commission,
and notified from time to time by the Central Government vide Resolutions as specified in Annexure-II;
Now, therefore, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) read with clause
(c) of section 2 of the said Act, hereby notifies the amendments to the said Common Central Lists of Other Backward
Classes in respect of the aforesaid States and Union Territories, as specified in the Appendix, which shall take effect
from the date of publication of this Resolution in the Official Gazette:—

Looking at the poll it appears that most of the people who are in favour of voting congress are the one who were in favour even before the announcement and most of the people who are against are the one who were against before this news.

Doesn't look like this news have changed people's views about Congress that much. Some people have started showing how it will dent Modi's fortune. Don't know whether are happy because of reservation or because it will harm Modi. Some people are asking all Jats to vote for Congress now as in their eyes we are indebted to them.

Another way to look at it if this was our Right Congress took 24 years to give us our Right? Should we feel angry or indebted. Yes one can argue that if we wouldn't suck up to Congress we wouldn't get Reservation. But a man of integrity and self pride wouldn't suck up to anyone for reservation. He will keep fighting till he get it.

I know people here don't like criticism and they would call me someone who never sat on the track and is just an internet warrior but we are not criticising them but are criticising Congress. Truth is people are so fed up with UPA that even this news wont change their mind. Another thing is when people ask for vote in favour of congress the voter has all right to ask questions about the motive, timing of the decision, critically evaluate it or be cynic about it . Its their right to ask and its the duty of the person seeking vote to explain. At least I never promised that I will vote for congress if we get reservation. The one who did should vote for congress.

I think reservation for jats is completely unfair and can't be justified. I want to bring the following points in the discussion.

1) Are we socially deprived?

The answer I feel is a big NO. A jat has always been proud of calling himself a jat which is not the case with other castes in OBC list.

2) Are we economically weak?

We had always been land owners, zamindars and kings, who had been providing employment to other castes through out the history. Consider the example of jats of Delhi, the price of land is so high there that almost everyone is a croepati.

3) Are we educationally weak?

We have lot of people reaching high posts in all walks of life. But there are still a lot of jats who don't get good education, this was even the worry of Sir Chhotu Ram in 1920s. However, jats have all the means to get good education. Lack of education is not forced on us by any one its a choice.

If we are not socially, economically and educationally backward on what basis we accepted this reservation. Sir Chhotu Ram would have been very UNHAPPY AND ASHAMED on this decision of the jat community. We have gone against his vision for jats "Khudi ko kar buland itna ke har taqder se pehle, Khuda bande se ye poche bata teri raza kia hai". He graduated from St. Stephan's College, Delhi University (topmost college in India) and held several high positions on the basis of his talent not because of any reservation. Many of us today are in good colleges and at higher posts not because of reservation but due to hard work.

We have violated the Kshatriya philosophy of sacrificing for the weak. Today, we are pretending to be weak ourselves and asking others to sacrifice for us.

Where is our honor and pride my friends?

Many of us say, several other forward casts have got reservation than why not we. Shouldn't we set an example by declining the reservation? Shouldn't we start a movement against all type of caste based reservation? Shouldn't we vouch reservation only for the economically weak irrespective of cast. We should portray such high moral standards that the rest of people in the country cite us as an example. Isn't that the vision of our great forefathers? Wouldn't our children be proud us for this sacrifice?

We have lost more than we have gained from this reservation.

Another angle to look at is, the opposition of this reservation by other castes and thus, the possible set back to Congress.
Yesterday there were such protests in Bhiwani and I am sure at other places too. These people might harm Congress prospects- esp Yadav votes as they have been the biggest beneficiary of OBC reservation. See the news below:

Bhai please read my post above this post .... I dont think Khangress will benefit from this step. Reservation is not going down well with other castes.

very good analysis Prashant from past. it's very clear that it's a political lollipop to overcast the non governance of last 10 years ..... If we behave like the majority of members behaving here god can only save our community .... future is not so bright ..principles seem to a word of past for jats

My only concern is how many castes came out of backwardness after getting reservation since independence ..... we have already pardoned the congress for all scams and misdeeds as we become backward ..... I am not backward , I will always remain Jat .....
