    Severe Summer Conditions : How to protect oneself

    The hot summer season is about to set in India. Due to unusual changes in weather conditions over the last few years, severity of hot is getting harder.

    The thread is started with a view to invite opinion/views of the participants how to cope with the severity of hot season. What diet, precautions inside and outside home, at work-place, while travelling etc may be taken.

    Proper intake of fluids to keep oneself hydrated. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sun. Excercise and eat small meals frequently.

    Use of lemon in adequate quantity is advisable to avoid bad impact of hot sun rays.

    Moving outside home empty stomach is dangerous in summer season. So eat something before going outside and avoid use of vegetables and fruits kept in open.

    Disdain already cut pieces of fruit an vegetable articles as they might contain dangerous contents for your health.

    that was an answer expected from a jat
    our forefathers have gone through these conditions with very little facilities with help of these onions lassi chhach and raabri.....point to be noted in places like rajasthan at this tyme of summer they dint used to have any fresh vegies as of now .

    But these articles which have had been in use in abundance from times immemorial, are not available to everyone particularly the poor urban section of society.

    Rates of lemon are sky rocketing and there is scarce chance of getting chhachh/lassi/rabadi these days.

    To keep one's head cool in scorching heat of the Sun, use of towel or some other piece of cloth or umbrella will do !

    sun is extremely rude over hear in jodhpur.
    we do it by hat or caps but recently attended a close reletives marrage in village .it was even hotter their but while going in barat when i wore that rajasthani turrey wala safa or pagdi ,felt so relived.it was so protecting.
    that moment i got enlightened why our ancestors used it .
    even dhoti and kurta are made for this type of weather.
