    Manmohan Singh ignored all warnings and let 2G, coal, CWG scams happen, ex-CAG Vinod

    NEW DELHI: Former comptroller and auditor general Vinod Rai has said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh knew about the 2G scam, which according to a CAG report had cost the exchequer Rs 1.76 lakh crore. Talking to Times Now's Arnab Goswami, Rai, busting Singh's claim that he didn't know about the scam said, Singh had knowingly disregarded the-then commerce and industry minister Kamal Nath's warning on the issue and allowed it to take place.

    Rai said: "All matters of importance go to the Prime Minister. And ultimately the buck stops on the Prime Minister's desk. In this particular case I found that minister of his own council who were writing to him again and again, saying that problems are, or there is talk about developments in the telecom sector, I quoted Mr Kamal Nath who is was the commerce industries minister, writing to the Prime Minister and expressing concerns about the development in the sector. I have written about the finance ministry expressing concerns, I have written about the law ministry expressing concerns. Now, all these things went to the Prime Minister."
    Rai also said that if Singh had wanted he could have stopped A Raja from going ahead with the 2G spectrum allocations.

    'Manmohan ignored Pranab'
    Rai also said that the former PM also knew about the scam in the coal block allocations that later came to be known as Coalgate. The CAG had estimated that the exchequer had lost Rs 1.86 lakh crore rupees due to the coal scam.
    Rai said the-then finance minister Pranab Mukherjee and he had jointly cautioned Singh on Coalgate. Despite the warning, Singh chose not to do anything.
    He said, "... I must say to the credit of then finance minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee that 2-3 issues that I brought to his notice, he immediately took them up. Another issue notice that I brought to his notice was the amendments which the audit tax need to be taken & he acted upon it immediately."

    Rai also said, "... there were evidently people in government and outside the government who did not want change in the (coal block allocations) process ... it was very cosy for them to continue with the ongoing process.
    'Manmohan let Kalmadi control CWG 2010'
    On being asked about Suresh Kalmadi's involvement in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Rai said, instead of mandating a minister with the responsibility of hosting the games, the government trotted the idea of giving the charge of the games to the Indian Olympic Association. The IOA was then headed by Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi.

    He said, "(The sports ministry had no role in hosting and managing the Commonwealth Games) ... in fact the former, the-then sports minster late Sunil Dutt wrote very strongly against it also (to the Prime Minister)."
    "... After that letter was received, I don't think any action was taken on it," he added.
    'Praful Patel forced a debt-ridden Air India to buy more planes'
    Vinod Rai also said NCP's Praful Patel, who was the civil aviation ministry, ordered the ailing Air India to buy 68 planes and not 28 as was originally approved. In order to to this, Patel gave a long-term perspective as an excuse.

    This meant Air India had to spend $5 billion more than planned as it had to by 40 extra aircraft.
    He said, "... it (the cost of purchasing the planes) went up from about 1000 million dollars to about 6000 million dollars ... that's the way it went. And we found it strange because these proposals are always examined in the finance ministry and the finance ministry was not convinced about it but the finance ministry wrote that this is a supply side, supply driven proposal. Which means just because you have bought more aircraft doesn't mean that Air India is going to come out of the red but more damaging part of it was, 97 per cent of this purchase amount was going to be debt. I don't think any airline can survive by such a huge debt."

    Congress reacts, BJP finds merit
    The Congress reacted sharply on Vinod Rai's allegations. Former Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam said, "Vinod Rai is lying, I have never met him outside the PAC meeting." Reacting to Vinod Rai's allegations, former foreign minister and Congerss leader Salman Khurshid said, "Don't accept sweeping statements made on scams."
    Former I&B minister Manish Tewari challenged Rai to a debate.

    The BJP on the other hand found merit in what Vinod Rai revealed during the interview. Party spokesman Siddharth Nath Singh said, "It is quite possible what Vinod Rai is saying has merit."

    I think it will damage him more if he found guilty and got some punishment , I am sure after thus RAnjit Sinha's episode we will a fresh investigation in coal , C2W and 2G scams .

    Its very much clear that he will be in trouble in future and court will always ask him to speak otherwise he will be behind bars like Chautala father son duo

    This is not a reply, just a request for information my dear Friend. To fortify your post, if not the link to log, at least quote the date, edition and publication of the Times of India quoted by you.

    Since most of the cases referred to are sub-judice, I deem it fit not to poke my nose on these big issues at this stage.

    Let the court verdicts come, then the issues mentioned would become a part of history to be written about the times and people involved in these 'murky' issues/deals.

    I think we should wait for some time until Vinod Rai is awarded with a governer's seat, or RS ticket.

    मनमोहन सिंह उर्फ मौनी बाबा को मोदी जी ने क्यों कहा था कि मनमोहन सिंह तो बाथरूम में भी रेनकोट पहन कर नहाने की कला जानते हैं।इस घटनक्रम को जनेगे तो आपको भी यकीन हो जाएगा तथाकथित ईमानदार मनमोहन सिंह कितना बड़ा खिलाड़ी था।आखिर अमर्त्यसेन अमेरिका में बैठे बैठे भारत सरकार की आर्थिक नीतियों की इतनी आलोचना या दूसरे शब्दों में कहें तो मोदी पर विष-वमन क्यों करते रहते हैं ? अगर आप भी अपनी जिज्ञासा शांत करना चाहते हैं तो ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़िए और जानिये क्यों ....वर्ष 2007 में जब नेहरू-गांधी परिवार के सबसे वफादार "डॉ मनमोहन सिंह" प्रधानमंत्री पद से अपनी शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे तब उन्होंने एक समय बिहार के विश्व प्रसिद्ध नालंदा विश्वविद्यालय को पुनर्जीवित करने की "महायोजना" पर काम शुरू किया (महायोजना क्यों कह रहा हूँ आगे स्पष्ट होगा) डॉ मनमोहन सिंह ने नोबल पुरस्कार विजेता "डॉ अमर्त्यसेन" को असीमित अधिकारों के साथ नालंदा विश्वविद्यालय का प्रथम चांसलर नियुक्त किया। उन्हें इतनी स्वायत्तता दी गयी कि उन्हें विश्विद्यालय के नाम पर बिना किसी स्वीकृति और जवाबदेही के कितनी भी धनराशि अपने इच्छानुसार खर्च करने एवं नियुक्तियों आदि का अधिकार था । उनके द्वारा लिए गये निर्णयों एवं व्यय किये गये धन का कोई भी हिसाब-किताब सरकार को नहीं देना था ।क्या आप कल्पना कर सकते हैं कि छुपे रुस्तम मनमोहन सिंह और अमर्त्यसेन ने मिलकर किस तरह से जनता की गाढ़ी कमाई और टैक्स के पैसों से भयंकर लूट मचाई ? वो भी तब जबकि अमर्त्यसेन अमेरिका में बैठे बैठे ही 5 लाख रुपये का मासिक वेतन ले रहे थे जितनी कि संवैधानिक रूप से भारत के राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमंत्री, मुख्य न्यायाधीश, मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त, रक्षा सेनाओं के अध्यक्षों, कैबिनेट सचिव या किसी भी नौकरशाह को भी दिए जाने का कोई प्रावधान ही नहीं है ।इतना ही नहीं अमर्त्यसेन को अनेक भत्तों के साथ साथ असीमित विदेश यात्राओं और उस पर असीमित खर्च करने का भी अधिकार था ।कहानी का अंत यहीं पर नहीं हुआ बल्कि उन्होंने मनमोहनी कृपा से 2007 से 2014 की सात वर्षों की अवधि में कुल 2730 करोड बतौर चांसलर नालंदा विश्वविद्यालय खर्च किये.... आपकी आंखें फटी रह गयी न ... विश्वास नहीं हो रहा न कि मनमोहन सिंह ईमानदारी के चोंगे में कितने बड़े छुपे रुस्तम थे ?चूंकि यूपीए सरकार द्वारा संसद में पारित कानून के तहत अमर्त्यसेन के द्वारा किये गये खर्चों की न तो कोई जवाबदेही थी और न ही कोई ऑडिट होना था और न ही कोई हिसाब उन्हें देना था इसलिए देश को कभी शायद पता ही न चले कि दो हज़ार सात सौ तीस करोड़ रुपये आखिर गये कहाँ ?राफेल राफेल चिल्लाने वाले राहुल और रंक से राजा बने दर्जाप्राप्त भूमाफिया रॉबर्ट वाड्रा की धर्मपत्नी प्रियंका वाड्रा की पारिवारिक विरासत ही है कानूनी जामा पहना कर संगठित लूट की ताकि कानून के हाथ कितने भी लंबे हो जायँ पर उनका कुछ न बिगड़े । ऐसी ही संस्कृति में पलने बढ़ने के कारण दोनों भाई-बहनों में कोई आत्मग्लानि का भाव है ही नहीं बल्कि आंखों में बेशर्मी की चमक हो जैसे...किस मुंह से ये गरीब, दलित, किसान और पिछड़ों के हक की लड़ाई लड़ने की बात करते हैं !! निपट ढोंग है ये । अभी कहानी खत्म नहीं हुई, पिक्चर अभी बाकी है -अमर्त्यसेन सेन ने जो नियुक्तियां कीं उसपर भी कानूनन कोई सवाल नहीं उठाया जा सकता । उन्होंने किन किन की नियुक्तियां कीं ... आइये ये भी जान लेते हैं -प्रथम चार नियुक्तियां जो उन्होंने कीं वो थे -1. डॉ उपिंदर सिंह2. अंजना शर्मा 3. नवजोत लाहिरी4. गोपा सब्बरवाल..... कौन थे ये लोग... ? ? जानेंगे तो मनमोहन सिंह के चेहरे से नकाब उतर जायेगा ।डॉ उपिंदर सिंह मनमोहन सिंह की सबसे बड़ी पुत्री हैं और बाकी तीन उनकी करीबी दोस्त और सहयोगी ।इन चार नियुक्तियों के तुरंत बाद अमर्त्यसेन ने जो अगली दो नियुक्तियां कीं वो गेस्ट फैकल्टी अर्थात अतिथि प्राध्यापक की थी और वो थे -1. दामन सिंह2. अमृत सिंह.....गोया ये कौन थे ? पहला नाम डॉ मनमोहन सिंह की मझली पुत्री और दूसरा नाम उनकी सबसे छोटी पुत्री का है । और सबसे अद्वितीय बात जो दामन सिंह और अमृत सिंह के बारे है वो ये कि ये दोनों "मेहमान प्राध्यापक" अपने सात वर्षों के कार्यकाल में कभी भी नालंदा विश्वविद्यालय नहीं आयी ... पर बतौर प्राध्यापक ये अमेरिका में बैठे बैठे ही लगातार सात सालों तक भारी-भरकम वेतन लेती रहीं ।उस दौर में नालंदा विश्वविद्यालय की संक्षिप्त विशेषता ये थी कि -विश्विद्यालय का एक ही भवन था, इसके कुल 7 फैकल्टी मेम्बर और कुछ गेस्ट फैकल्टी मेम्बर (जो कभी नालंदा आये ही नहीं ) ही नियुक्त किये गये जो अमर्त्यसेन और मनमोहन सिंह के करीबी और रिश्तेदार थे । विश्विद्यालय में बमुश्किल 100 छात्र भी नहीं थे और न ही कोई वहां कोई बड़ा वैज्ञानिक शोध कार्य ही होता था जिसमे भारी भरकम उपकरण या केमिकल आदि का प्रयोग होता हो ।फिर वो 2730 करोड़ रुपये गये कहाँ आखिर ?मोदी जब सत्ता में आये और उन्हें जब इस कानूनी लूट की जानकारी हुई तो अमर्त्यसेन के साथ साथ मनमोहनी पुत्रियों को भी तत्काल बाहर का रास्ता दिखा दिया ।कहाँ गए वो राफेल राफेल चिल्लाने वाले... लौट आये बैंकॉक से ? कहाँ गयी गरीब किसान की पत्नी जिनके साथ अत्याचार हो रहा है ....अभी गरीब गुरबा के साथ सेल्फी में ही जुटी हैं क्या ? कहाँ गये वो 49 मॉब लिंचिंग के स्वयम्भू चिंतक जिनके पीठ पर लदा पुरस्कारों का अहसान अभी उतरा नहीं है तो आंखों में बेहयाई अभी बाकी है ?

    Wonder what happened to all those scams. Are all culprits in jail or there were no scams. What is happening in this regime. Every thing is sold to BJP masters Adani, Ambanis at dirt cheap rates. Business is booming for these guys. Looks like whatever media sells to us, we believe in it thoroughly. Previously media was selling all these so called scams and now same media is in bhakti mode and looking after its masters really well. Now the same media is selling religious sentiments and people are believing in it. Media shapes our lives, thoughts and national discourse. We have no issues except discussing Hindu Muslim now.

    If business is in hands of Adani or Ambani, then once more check with HR, if there is any salary slab change also moving in corporate compound. Rest, forget of dreaming like a star, because Modi is going to grab it all for centuries. We will again push-in Hindu-Muslim talks or party favoring business tycoons. Politics is not served on our dining table, for us is hard work and honesty which is indeed digestible. Hehe!
