The malaise of drugs and alcohol abuse is rapidly spreading in the youths of Hariyana. It is time to nip this evil in the bud, lest, it may be too late.

Welcome Dahiya Sahib on the discussion forum with a very timely issue as the subject of thread agitating the minds of all.
The two problems are really spreading their wings in the state with each passing day.
The parents, society and the authorities must get together to devise ways and means to wean away the druggists
and alcohol users and also try to rehabilitate them in society.
History is best when created, better when re-constructed and worst when invented.
Thanks, Dr. Singh. The problem is indeed very serious and what we see to-day is just a tip of an ice-berg. How much painful and a big loss for a community seeing its youths being spoiled for nothing. Let us do something to protect our generation from this danger.

In Western Countries, Drinking not is evil. There is nothing bad about alcohol. People don't abuse after drinks, even they become more sweeter, polite and funny. In metro cities girls also drink.
Problem is that who is drinking it? And how much he is drinking? Why he is drinking?
Some people drink for enjoy ( Party, Clubbing, Occasion)
Some people drink for their diet (30ml or 60ml/day)
Some people drink without reason, just to get drunk, and they mess with others, abuse others.
So there is nothing bad about drinking but That's the matter who is drinking it.

There is no controversy that drinking as such is a bad thing. The point to worry is that this habit may not become an addiction for our youths and spoil their career. Our youths are the future of our community and there seems to be some need to guide them properly.

Of course, the Jat youth is on the cross roads and only negatives of 'consumer culture' is fast catching up with them especially with the neo-rich Jat families.
If timely remedial steps including proper counselling is not made available to such young ones, they are sure to fall prey to druggist trap and thus are likely to spoil their future.

Of late there is emerging a very serious tendency of mixing the alcohol with drugs. As these intoxicants have opposite impact upon human body and mind, this mixing could prove to be fatal for any one. It is high time that innocent youths are educated not to fall an easy prey to this trap.

It is a fact that every drug or alcohol addict, has moments of self-guilt, particularly after getting up in the morning;
and think of leaving this addiction but by the evening, he again falls a pray to this addiction due to various reasons.
It is important to examine those reasons at the individual level and the group level, before remedial actions could be taken.
The addicts need sympathetic attitude not hostility.

As the malaise of Drug and Alcohol abuse is spoiling not only the illiterate/semi-illiterate youths of our community
but also the highly educated, well placed rural youths are falling an easy prey to this devil spirit,
therefore, every category has to be tackled accordingly through a befitting- method.
