Exit polls, Results and who is who in Haryana Vidhan Sabha 2014

The voters of Haryana have broken all previous records of voters turn out in Haryana Assembly elections and the fate of 1351 contesting candidates have been sealed in the EVMs today.

Now the poll pundits will keep up busy by telling the supposed number of seats each party is going to win.

Kindly share your observations/comments on the exit polls appearing on the screens of the TV and the news papers till 19th October, 2014 when real victors will be declared by the election commission. Then you would be in a position to compare and contrast the exit polls and the real results of the 90 seats of the Assembly.

Here we can also discuss the number of the Jat candidates across the parties who would be representing us in the State Assembly for the next five years.
History is best when created, better when re-constructed and worst when invented.

We travelled all the way to Bhiwani to cast our votes, after a decade. I am happy that Haryana has come up with a record turnout of voters.

Well, whatever the exit pools say would become clear in next few days. Since the CM post of both leading parties is not clear, it would be more interesting to know who could be the would be CM.

In all probability Haryana will have BJP government with a non-Jat CM.

Mostly exit polls say BJP is going to emerge as largest party in both Haryana and Maharashtra. If BJP forms government in Haryana, I think they should make some Jat as CM. Though if Capt. Abhimanyu like contenders lose then it will be interesting to see whom they purpose to be the CM. I think BJP understands it very well that if they make some non-Jat CM in Haryana, then it can displease not only the Jats of Haryana, but of other states too.

The exit poll by Panchari, which got the figures in the April 2014 Parliamentary elections right by predicating the exact number of seats for the BJP, has again put the saffron party in the lead where it would be able to form the government on its own by being way ahead of the halfway mark. Panchari is giving an outright majority to the BJP with 52 seats. It is giving the INLD 23 seats and the Congress 10. This exit poll is giving five seats to others.
The survey by ABP-Nielsen has also indicated that the BJP will form the government with a majority. It has given 46 seats to the BJP, 29 to INLD, 10 to Congress, two to HJC and three to others.
The Times Now C-voter exit poll has indicated a hung assembly. It has put the BJP ahead of others with 37 seats, INLD at number two with 28 seats, Congress 15 and all others put together getting 10. The Congress has had two consecutive terms in the state and is facing an anti-incumbency which Hooda says is "pro-incumbency" on account of the development in the state during the last decade. The satta bazaar has given highest number of seats to the BJP between 39 and 41, INLD between 27 and 29, Congress between 15 and 17 and the HJC between three and five.

The fortunes of the BJP have been fluctuating like a pendulum since the market opened about a month ago but the party has maintained its lead. “Initially, the BJP was pegged at 40-42 seats but later it started gaining and crossed the 44 seat mark, just two short of a clear majority.

However, the graph suddenly started falling owing to poor campaigning and the number to seats came down to 33-34 about a week ago. Modi’s rallies too failed to evoke the desired influence,” informed an insider.
The INLD tally went to up to a maximum of 30 - 32 seats. “The aggressive campaign by the party supremo OP Chautala boosted the morale of the workers, hence, a jump of 6-8 seats in the past two weeks,” he added
The market is not enthusiastic towards the Congress. From a poor figure of 11-12 seats in the beginning, the party has gained steadily and will likely bag 15-16 seats. The HJC will win 4-5 seats while others can get zero to 4 seats,” the insiders informed.

Yesterday, Rao Inderjeet singh said that CM will be decided by MLAs. Jis side k jyada MLA usi side ka CM banega. He is projecting himself as CM as most of the BJP seats are expected to come from South haryana.

Don't know how much true is this information, but mostly such CMs are not seen who have lost the elections and who never need contesting elections to continue as a CM. Though I am not sure about it.

Don't mix Prime Ministers with Chief Ministers. In case of Prime Minister there is no need to contest election as one can be chosen through Rajya Sabha as Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha have been chosen and Arun Jaitley has been appointed as Finance, Corporate Affairs and Defence Minister despite losing election. Read more about it :
    .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......................
The Rajya Sabha or Council of States is the upper house of the Parliament of India. Membership is limited to 250 members, 12 of whom are nominated by the President of India for their contributions to art, literature, science, and social services. The remainder of the body is elected by the state and territorial legislatures. Members sit for six-year terms, with one third of the members retiring every two years.

The Rajya Sabha meets in continuous sessions and, unlike the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, is not subject to dissolution. The Rajya Sabha has equal footing in all areas of legislation with Lok Sabha, except in the area of supply, where the Lok Sabha has overriding powers. In the case of conflicting legislation, a joint sitting of the two houses is held. However, since the Lok Sabha has twice as many members as the Rajya Sabha, the former would normally hold the greater power. Only three such joint-sessions have been held; the latest one for the passage of the 2002 Prevention of Terrorism Act. The salary and other benefits for a member of Rajya Sabha are same as for a member of Lok Sabha.

jab Modi ko delhi se Gujarat bheja gaya tha.. CM bana ke... 2001 mai...
then he had to contest election and he won that.

Modi's beginning as Chief Minister of Gujarat
First term (2001–02)In 2001, Keshubhai Patel's health was failing, and the BJP had lost seats in the by-elections. Allegations of abuse of power, corruption and poor administration were being made, and Patel's standing had been damaged by his administration's handling of the Bhuj Earthquake of 2001.As a result, the BJP's national leadership sought a new candidate for the office of chief minister, and Modi, who had aired his misgivings about Patel's administration, was chosen as a replacement.L. K. Advani, a senior leader of the BJP, did not want to ostracise Patel and was worried about Modi's lack of experience in governance. Modi declined an offer to be Patel's deputy chief minister, informing Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayeethat he was "going to be fully responsible for Gujarat or not at all", and on 3 October 2001, Modi was named as the replacement of Patel as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, with the responsibility of preparing the BJP for elections in December 2002. As Chief Minister, Modi's ideas of governance revolved around privatisation and small government, which stood at odds with what political commentator Aditi Phadnis has described as the anti-privatisation, anti-globalisation position of the RSS.
On 7 October 2001, Modi was administered the oath of office by the Sunder Singh Bhandari, Governor of Gujarat. He then contested election from Rajkot - II assembly constituency in a by-poll and won by defeating Congress's Ashwin Mehta by 14,728 votes.
