Thread: Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India : An appraisal

One thorn in the flesh of BJP is Lalit Modi these days. He has been revealing his personal dealings/relations with the political leaders of BJP in the past to embarrass one after another leader. Now NCP has come in open support of Lalit Modi that he is not a Bhagora. This turn in NCP thinking will stand in good stead of BJP. As regards Rajasthan CM the latest position is :

Unfazed by the mounting Congress demand for Raje's resignation, the BJP continued to defend the Chief Minister with its spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi asserting that there is "no substance" in the rival party's allegations.PTISource: www.oneindia.com

Even known critics had fallen silent for the past one year pointed to the fact that Modi-Shah leadership had been successful in conveying to party members that being out of line would not be tolerated. However with a weakened party and government, trying to do its best to save them from embarrassment, those waiting in the wings to strike sense an opportunity. The fear is they may lend courage to others who are waiting for their turn to hit and run. This could only weaken the government and the party further from within.

Speaking on the need of maintenance of probity in public life [indirectly demanding resignation of Shushma Swaraj and Vasundhra Raje tainted by their dealings brought to light by Lalit Modi] veteran leader L K Advani has said that he had resigned his post on Hawala scandal in 1996 was revealed.

This is considered a veiled threat to Modi Government asking the decision makers to see the writ on the wall otherwise be prepared to face verdict of people who are supreme in democracy.

Reacting to Advani's remarks, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said he is showing the way to the BJP as well as the Prime Minister that those people who are "tainted" should be made to resign whether it is Raje or Swaraj or anyone else.PTISource: www.oneindia.com

Prime Minister Narender Modi is proceeding to a state visit to Central Asian and other countries to further cement ties of India with them. This is a part of the foreign policy of the new government to establish one to one relations with foreign countries heads and the government head of India.

During his visit to Russia Prime Minister Modi had one to one talk with his counterpart PM of Pakistan and thus ice was broken between the cold relations of the two countries. Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction on the outcome of the talks between the two. How do the participants view the meeting would result in bettering the relations between the two nations or not ?

The NDA governments' plea to review decision on OBC quota was rejected today by the Supreme Court. For details link

    http://go4g.airtel.in/nd/?pid=428599&rgn=kt

    Extract from this link :
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday quashed the review pleas of Narendra Modi government and Jat lobbies seeking to declare the Jat community as socially and economically backward class to grant them OBC reservation.

A bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi dismissed the plea filed by them seeking review of its verdict by which it had declared the Centre's decision to grant OBC status to JAT community as unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court in March had struck down the Centre's controversial decision to grant Jat community reservation in jobs and educational institution, terming it as a reflection of "negative" and "retrograde" governance.

The UPA government's decision to grant OBC status to the Jat community on the eve of the 2014 general elections had drawn strong reactions from other backward class communities which viewed the move as vote bank politics. The NDA government had defended the UPA's decision in the Supreme Court.

"We cannot agree with the view taken by the government that Jats in the nine states in question are a backward community so as to be entitled to inclusion in the central lists of other backward classes," the SC had said.

"The view taken by the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) to the contrary is adequately supported by good and acceptable reasons which furnished a sound and reasonable basis for further consequential action on the part of the Union government," said Justice Gogoi, who authored the judgment for the bench.

This decision will have long ranging impact on the polity of India as Jats are not likely to be satisfied by NDA just making feeble attempt to mollify the Jat feelings hurt by earlier decision of the hon'ble SC through revision plea.

What new points by Modi led Government were added to get the revision of the decision, this point would now be hotly discussed and debated.

No body, least the Jats, had any illusion regarding what the result of the review petition would be. Yet no eyebrows were raised when the government decided to go for the petition. It was clear from the circumstances prevailing then that the government was doing a demonstrative action. Had it in mind the welfare of the wronged community it would have straight away gone for taking steps to remove the infirmities in the step taken by the previous government and ensured its positive passage through out the processing of the case and taken a measured decision, making difficult for the court to reverse it. Precedents are plenty.
The community should not give up work towards opening the whole question of similarly situates to be treated at par in terms of the principle of equality before law. Shocked silence should not linger on any more.

Yes, without loosing further time, the Jats must exert full pressure on the Government of India to get their legitimate demand implemented by executive and legislative measures, if any. The matter cannot be pushed under carpet by gimmicks like the one formality already performed !!

Surely . the appeal petition was meant to get the matter buried. But the Jats have got wiser. They know that if they could persuade one unwilling combination to take a favourable decision, it may as well be not so difficult to persuade another regime to condescend. A renewed action plan with vigour in character 0f the stuff they are is already due. Only a leader is awaited. Time servers must take a back seat.

Leaders ke naam pe jo bheed hai wo credit lene ke maksad se kaam kr rhe hai. Consensus ban nhi rha hai so as of now direction less chal rha hai. Wahi Bjp again acted smart and said dobara se committee study kregi. Possibly they did this keeping an eye on 2017 UP elections.

ha ha,,,,not possible all the money needs to land up with wrong people/places and for propaganda.

With current political and other structures lowering of petrol will never be possible.

There is a structural approach that the country will sooner or later have to implement this also means change in the quality of people at key posts throughout the country.

Although India is supposed to be one of the biggest economies in the world, yet the people are living in the worst conditions comparing to the world.

One argument can be given that it is part of development process but this argument is not valid in today's time as there are lot of solutions to the current problems and issues.

When in any country religion, family rule, society rule, etc. dominates the lives of people, things are not going in right direction.
