"Buda" was also a "Mede" tribe. Buddha was born to this tribe and we know, buddha was also called "Shakya Muni" or "Muni of the Shakyas", this also means that "Mede" were a sub tribe of "Scythains". Besides that migration of "Medes" to Iran from North West of Iran also indicates that they may be coming from more north western areas of the central Asia. Had they been living in north eastern regions of central Asia, they would have entered Iran from North Eastern regions of Iran, which konnekt with central Asia.

The map is really interesting in this wiki link. The map shows 323 BC. which clearly shows the presence of north western tribes. Dahae are still present in central Asia. The last known migration to deeper India of Scythians was in 4th century AD, which is very late in history as compaired to the date shown in this map. Other Local Indian tribes are shown in central and other deeper portions of this map.

Khara Kushhun is name of a place where the scientists/archaeologists went.
Scientists/archaeologists also talk about about Kushhan dynasty and also find coins from that period.
The people he talks about are located in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan.
There are lot of evidence that proves central Asian origins of Gurjars and Jats.
More is known by Russian, Chinese and Japanese archaeologists.
Any more additions to the thread are welcomed.

We may read here -

One of the gotras of Jats being "Budgujar",,,,which in ancient times might have meant that these people were the bigger lot as "Bud" in core Hindi mean "Big". Bigger in size, bigger in numbers. bigger in spread of area and kingdoms. etc. one can try to explore this issue.
Looking at the extent and history of "Jats", "Kadian" from "Akkadian", "Elam" from "Elam", "Meds" from "Median Empire", than we have places called Gilgit, Gillan, Kushan Empire, central Asia, mention of these people in the old and new testament of Bible and the Hebrew bible from which it is evident that Jats have an extended tribal roots that go beyond the boundaries of present day India.

There is a place called "Sistan"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistan
This documentary shows the fort of "Scythains" and clearly calls them "People from the north". This also means that these might have been different from the other tribes living in these regions and might have even migrated after sometime from the regions shown in the documentary.

This is an interesting documentary about Scythains. Interestingly there is a goat sculpture shown in this documentary, which typically looks like a mountain goat by its horn structure.
