Pollution level in India - Its hazardous :(

These thoughts are rolling around in my mind for last few days!
Most of India’s Major cities are not liveable. Please check the pollution levels.

    It’s hazardous.
Everyone is talking about intolerance and racism, but to me this pollution level seems to be more dangerous for the country.

We must do something at large scale to prevent global warming. I heard in the news that earth is getting hotter and weather is getting colder.

Global warming could also mean more forest fires, farm fires, floods, droughts, etc.

Besides that ground water is being polluted at an indiscriminate rate.

Recent forest fires are only a glimpse of what is yet to come throughout the country. Due to climate change and unseasonal weather patters, fires across the nation will become a common routine, in forests and other places.

So, what needs to be done?

Rivers and water sources are heavily polluted, if sand and soil is dredged from areas near the river or the river itself, this might lead to ground water contamination at an alarming rate.

Absolutely right Virender. Last week i was in Delhi and for 3 days I had cough which my friend said that its normal for some one to have in Delhi because of polution. Just think about the condition of a new born in Delhi. We are not serious in this issue but in 5-10 years we will as death toll because of pollution is on the rise and the only thing our government is interested is one to stay in power

Pollution levels are getting worse and worse, especially in states next to national capital Delhi and area's near major cities.

And the sports people are supposed to bring medals for the country by filling their lungs with polluted air filled with polluted. I wonder, what is lung capacity or other parameters of Indian sports people and how has polluted effected it negatively?

We can already see the effect of global warming - More heat in summer, hard to breathe outside due to polluted air, more sickness, more chilling in winter seasons, and bad timing of rainy days.

Everybody is seeking/looking for change but nobody is a part of it. Everyone knows we are deteriorating the environment, but we hesitate to take the initiative to plants tress/plants.

    1. Prevent wastage of water.
    2. Plant more and more trees.
    3. Maintain parks in locality
    4. No throwing garbage etc..
Such small steps can help us reduce the ill effects of the pollution.

It is the mindset of people which is to blame. One individual thinks that he is not enough to save the planet by preventing water wastage, avoiding the use of polythene bags etc. Like this individual, every other person has the same thinking. So unless that thought process is changed nothing is ever going to change.

Pollution is increasing and ground water is getting contaminated at an alarming rate, which is very dangerous in north western India. Once ground water is contaminated it can not cleaned for long time.

It's not only pollution. But also insensitivity to wastage of resources. Since people think water is free. Let's waste without any qualms.
I have seen water wasted at such levels due to ignorance, lack of education in villages.

Education of masses is a must.

Now to point is, how to educate the mass about it and what change can we bring to the society at our individual level?

Current season rains might have washed the pollution caused by humans but as soon as the rains stop,,,,, the cycle of pollution will start getting momentum. Current pollution has only been washed into the sea and other water resources this does not mean that pollution has declined or the level of pollution being caused by population has dropped. Rather it has increased,,,,,,

As season pattern changes due to global warming,,,current political structures will not be able to handle the changes
