Greatest problem is the urbanization and land development, which is having a devastating effect on water and soil in rural, semi rural and city area's.

According to BBC, on Diwali night yesterday, Delhi's air pollution rose to nearly 10 times the safe limit of 100, thanks to uncontrolled use of fireworks on city's streets. This is really shocking! The short news item can be read at the following URL:

Awareness alone will not work. There are realizations that need to happen. There is lot of political crap and steps need to be taken to go beyond political crap.

All of the factors are linked to quality of parliamentarians in states and at local levels as well.

What to talk of pollution in Delhi, the Breathing particularly in morning in Jaipur City has become difficult. One can feel the problem of poisonous particles from burning of crackers and smoke from garbage bins due to mismanagement of JMC. Result is number of morning walkers reduced to less than half. We are paying Swachchhata tax but garbage bins in Jaipur are not cleaned but JMC people burn the garbage creating further pollution. Who will see it ?

I think no one will see it. You can burn all the leaves of your tree behind your house.

It will go on and on till January and February, after all everyone has to use a car,,its a Prestige issue.

Why this problem is more in north?
Is it due to geographical / climate related or some thing else?
