Sushil had in 2 bouts, one at his original fight class of 66 kg & another when Narsingh was at 84 kg & sushil at few kilos less, defeated Narsingh yadav. Now both these fights were at different time points & not recent. Delhi HC has recently said to WFI that wrestlers should not be sitting in courts & asked WFI to give Sushil a hearing. However, at this point of time, if both wrestlers have a bout, it would be very probable that both sides inflict injuries on each other, which would make it difficult for the winner to give the best performance in the Rio games. I must say the fault lies with WFI, where the Babus sit & play caste related politics. What i read somewhere was that Laloo & Mulayam were pushing WFI to let Narsingh yadav to represent India, even though he is from Mumbai. WFI & other sport bodies should conduct trials for top few guys atleast in every sport, so no one takes their place for granted.

From a news report, I understand that in 74 kg group, Narsingh has earned a quota for India and therefore, he want to represent in that weight category,. Sushil has won his medals in 68 kg weight category in past, but now his weight has increased by few kgs, therefore he also want to represent the 74 kg category. Is it true?

Sushil won in 66 category not in 68 kg . 66 category is removed from the Olympic so definitely all those wrestlers of 66 kg will move to 74 kg.

- sushil won bronze and solver medal in olympic (66 kg)
- sushil won gold in world championship (66 kg)
- sushil won gold in commonwealth 2014 in 74 kg
- sushil defeated narsingh yadav two times in 66 kg and 84 kg category
- Gov spent 1 crore on sushil training even after narsingh won quote for Rio olympic

why should not be a trial and when it is a procedure. Best should go to olympic.. there is no player of sushil kumar stature at the present time in India..he deserves at least a trial

Trials are the only fair way to resolve this issue.

There are four Olympics qualifying tournaments for wrestling, for Rio Olympics the schedule was:-

1. World Wrestling Championship at Las Vegas-2015. (Top six earns the quota for country-Narsingh won Bronze earning quota for India)
2. Asian Qualifying Tournament at Kajaksthan-2016(Top two earns quota for country).
3. 1st World Qualifying at Mongolia-2016(Top three earns quota for country).
4. 2nd World Qualifying at Turkey-2016(Top two earns quota for country)

Once a country earn quota in the tournament in a particular weight category then it cant send wrestlers for further qualifying tournaments in that category. So in a way four tournament chances are available for getting the quota.
Usually all countries which have good competition in weight categories go through the process of trials to send the best in Olympics.

Trials are norm in most of the countries, trials are being organised for USA wrestling team for Rio nowadays.
Regarding injuries, your point is not valid as wrestlers usually have many bouts even during Olympics. So injury can not be a valid reason for not conducting trials.

It now appears that this WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is hell bent on dragging Sushil kumar to Courts. They did not allowed wrestler Sushil kumar to participate in the National camp at Sonipat. The Ideal scenario would have been that sports ministry intervened (Sports minister Sonowal refused to intervene) & forced these autonomous federations (Jungle raj) to conduct trials, not only for wrestling, but also for other sports. Imagine, a scenario wherein No.1 sportsman in any sport suffers injuries & is not in top condition to give his best performance & yet continues to represent the nation. As per current scenario, these trials are not happening. From the discussions, it appears that WFI is giving all sorts of logics to not let the trial happen. A simple fact is being ignored that it is not about WFI, WFI President or his "Huge Ego". It is about our nation "India"...If Sushil kumar looses, then Narsingh yadav would automatically rise in his status. We would also know for sure, that we are best represented in wrestling. But, if he does not engages with Sushil, it can only mean one thing...Narsingh yadav is scared of loosing against Sushil Kumar.

Delhi High Court has dismissed the Sushil's plea to conduct a special trial with Narsingh Yadav. Justice Manmohan has said that that there was no perversity the WFI’s decision to send Yadav at the event.He also said that Sushil being a wrestler himself knows that trail shall seriously jeopardize the chance of India winning a medal in the Olympics inasmuch as Yadav would have to halt his training midway.

भारत सरकार को गलती समझ में आ गई है अब यह गलती शायद आगे नहीं होगी। सरकार ने खेलों में सुधार के लिए समिति बनादी है। अगले ओलंपिक में शायद जाटों की उपेक्षा नहीं होगी।
