There may or may not be some valid reasons behind this Ordinance but the ruling by Supreme Court regarding NEET is a welcomes step. States may call it unfair towards the local student due to language and syllabus but that need to sort out by the States by inducing a common syllabus and common language. Medical is a professional sector and the aspirants should be fluent in speaking and understanding the common language which can be used for communication all across the country. End of the day, this ability is going to help the students in a big way.

I am positive that NEET would be implemented from Next year.

NEET was proposed six year back, but supreme court stayed its implementation in year 2010. On the plea of MCA, now supreme court has given clear direction for implementation of NEET, which is a welcome step by all student community by and large. There is no valid reason for ordinance at this point of time, except that the political class (about 80 MPs of different parties) i.e.e private medical college owners does not want to leave the control on admission over 25k medical seats. when 1100k students can wight JEEMAIN in English, then why not NEET? The govt is well aware about this, therefore, health minister has given a clarification that the proposed ordinance is only to provide one year time to state govt to adopt NEET. He has further clarified that all private universities/colleges are not covered in this ordinance. This means that private colleges are not going to conduct their own entrance exam and they are under NEET in current year and their seats are going to be filled through NEET. President is still holding ordinance and seeking legal opinion on this...
    Let us hope for best.....

President's approval to the Ordinance is supposed to settle down the dust regarding NEET.

President seems convinced about the intentions of the Govt regarding this Ordinance as well as might have taken assurance from Govt about the implementations of Supreme Court Ruling from next year onward.

    Good developments !
