We start this thread with the view to bring in light who are the prominent Jats who have received the highest civilian awards in India.
Padma awards
Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India. Bharat Ratna award is conferred "in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order".
Other highest civilian awards after Bharat Ratna are -
Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, preceded by Bharat Ratna and followed by Padma Bhushan.
Padma Bhushan is given for "exceptional and distinguished service", without distinction of race, occupation, position, or sex. The award criteria include "service in any field including service rendered by Government servants" including doctors and scientists, but excludes those working with the public sector undertakings.
Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan, but coming before the Padma Shri. It is announced on the occasion of Republic Day of India every year.
Padma Shri (also Padmashri, Padmashree) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan.
Awarded by the Government of India, it is announced every year on India's Republic Day.
