Architects of Kutub Minar - an eye-opener

The director of Archaeological Museum at Gurukul Jhajjar (Haryana), Shri Virjanand Daivkarni, who is also an expert in deciphering stone-inscriptions written in Brahmi script, had written an article on Kutub Minar in December 1992. When he approached some newspaper offices in Delhi for publishing it, they refused to do so, arguing that it would generate another controversy after Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya, on 6 December 1992. But Punjab Kesari had published it after some time.

The author (Shri Virjanand Daivkarni) recently gave me a copy of this article. I have put this Hindi article at the end of wiki page on Kutub Minar. It can be read on the following link of Jatland Wiki -

    Very informative article, Deswal Ji.

It's not a surprise that newspapers didn't publish that article. Newspapers are run by people and those people have preferences regarding everything they want to publish. Every newspaper want to be knows as Modern as well as Secular Entity and such article doesn't fit in their scheme of things.

The biggest problem in India is that here politicians claims to be the historians and historians behave like politicians. British historian moulded our history in a big way to divide and rule Indian mindset. British knew that sooner or later they were supposed to leave India so they intentionally blended controversial or communal facts in historical references. They knew that Indians would take many decades to correct those facts but that would be enough time for a communal differentiation among the population.

After two or three decades of Independence, people started realizing about the wrong facts and references. Coincidentally. that was the exact time when secular word and its meaning, in Indian context, started taking its shape as a vote bank. The historians who came forward with their new research were demotivated by governments and administrators in one way or other. Most of the politicians wanted a favorable history which was already written by the British.

Any amendment in the history or historical facts could have created problems in the permanent vote banks of the major political party who was undisputed singe ruling party for the first three decades after Independence. They adapted the dangerous strategy of minority appeasement to remain in power. It was part of their strategy to block and suppress such kind of articles which contradicts the moulded history written by the British influence.

So, politicians started taking interest in history to counter such articles. Instead of appreciating an independent research on such articles they either influenced the historians or brought forwards some politically biased historians from nowhere to discard such theories. This closes any door for honest discussion or research on such articles but become a topic of fierce arguments before ending up like a communal matter.

People don't need newspapers to post such article these day because of unlimited options due to internet. But the secular plant of those days has become a very big tree now and it won't allow any honest and true research to take place in such matters. The secular tree has become so big and widespread that even scientifically proved methods like Yoga are being declared as communal. A huge number of 'I know everything' kind of literated illiterates who behave like trolls are making things worse and making sure that truth is almost impossible to find out.

एक संस्था बनी है - Indian Council of Historical Research.
