    jats and education

    Dear members

I would like share my view with all the members of jatland.com
Community regarding condition among in our community.
Jats are suffering because they ignored education. Today
knowledge is power. In utter Pradesh the population kayastha is
only 0.6% but their representation in govt jobs Is more then 6%.
Similar is the case with baniyas and brahimins.
We are living today in a global village.those person who
has access to information Are reaping its benefits. This can be
seen from share of service sector in the Indian GDP Whose
contribution is now more than 60%, among highest in the world.
We Jat people are notorious preventing our girls from
studying especially in rural places. As somebody have told
that “when a woman is educated whole family is educated”.
This is indeed true. Education makes a person more articulate
and manipulative. It empowers him to tackle the challenges of
life more effectively. Educated person have more chances to
exploit The opportunities. I don’t know when people of our
    community will realize this.
Even sc and st are seems to be better than us at least in their
attitude toward girls education. our girls are not allowed to go
college because our elders think that they will “bigad” jayenge.
They will fall in love. Educated girls are more confidant and they
Have lesser chance of taking wrong decision.
In Delhi where Jats are in substantial numbers still there are very
few Jats in engg. ,medical and other colleges and institutions.
I think money is not a problem for a majority of Jats.
They can give thousand of rupees to Dalal’s for passing illegally
    but can not study seriously.
I want end this article with a positive note. There is a Jat guy
in Delhi Mr. Dhankar Living in Mansarovar hostel in Delhi Univ.
who goes to schools in Haryana’s and give tips To students
there for taking admission in Delhi univ. I think we should
    emulate him in more places.
Any suggestion or criticism is welcome.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY JATS DON'T WANT TO WORK HARD IN EDUCATIONAL MATTERS. IT SEEMS TO ME THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR SHORT CUTS. DO THEY REALLY BELIEVE THEY HAVE 'MOTA' DEEMAG AND THERFORE HAVE GIVEN UP ON THEMSELVES WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. I WONDER WHAT WOULD A SURVEY REVEAL IF VILLAGE JAT CHILDREN ARE ASKED TO SPEAK FROM THEIR HEARTS AS TO WHAT PREVENTS THEM FROM STUDYING AND SETTING GOALS IN EDUCATIONAL REALM. IF SOMEBODY CAN ELABORATE ON THIS ELUSIVE
ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM, I WOULD APPRECIATE VERY MUCH. ' WILL BE BACK SOON...

    Reasons ye se urmila ji
Kheti kamm se par khan-peen ka kam chal ja se. Jab tak wo kam chalta rahga jat kona kare dusre kam(Padhai etc).
On top of that in villeges they have few examples where somebody did BA, MA and are unemployed, That give them a good excuse not to study at all and drop out as early as possible...

yes..this is really a fact that jaats are not much in studies......
khetti baadi se hi sab khush ho jaate hain isliye padhan ki kosis hi na karte...
punjabi jatt ka bhi yahi haal hai..
we really need to inspire jaats to study more.
    hope we can contribute,,,,,

    Sudheer,
You posted a very true(and Bitter) situation of jats attitude.
May be you can post some more about Mr. Dhankar's efforts. SO that other jats can take up the same kind of efforts. Not only in studies but as well as in jobs etc.
This (Guidance) is the best effective way for a change in attitude.
