The answer lies in affirmative that Government of the day must do the needful. Yes, a few steps are being taken up but much has yet to be done on this front.

I agree with you Rajpal Ji.

One year plus is such a huge time period to fix the environmental things.

This issue becomes highly important by considering the facts that everything was under control before April 2014 and sudden rise of these parameters to their critical level is present government's failure.

India is going to present a strong case for control of pollution at the Paris summit and has made it clear to developed nations [specifically USA] that India cannot be bullied by them.

Indian Prime Minister Modi said at the environment summit at Paris that for current deterioration in environment India has nothing to do as it is the contribution of developed countries and they must come forward now to contribute to overcome the awesome condition arising out on this count.

The concept of "Hum" as spoken by Mr. Prime Minister , that has been followed in the country as an escapist means by political diaspora, seems to show the same old pattern.

Can India develop itself without taking responsibility and accountability ?

'Responsibility and Accountability are much misused words and there is no consensus on their real meaning at different levels. Only contextual use of these two terms makes their meaning clear.

If you are using the two terms in the context of international relations and global affairs, India's role is always appreciated as a responsible nation and none has expressed fear on 'accountability' of India.

    Is not it so !!!!

On the progress of economy under Modi led Government of India economist Jagdish Bhagwati, a professor emeritus at Columbia University and and economist what has tracked Modinomics very closely, gives 6 out of 10 marks. Kindly share an extract from his latest interview quoted from link : http://go4g.airtel.in/nd/?pid=867348

According to Bhagwati, all the BRICS countries have fallen off their horses while India is the only one which is still riding. However, he was not ready to give the full credit to Modi for the growth. In an exclusive interview to Rajdeep Sardesai, he said, "Modi may be lucky or he may have really worked it out." He maintains that India is a big country with a big market and PM Modi should learn to play with it.funfactsBhagwati thinks there are three jobs that Modi should focus on.

Firstly, PM Modi should explain what he really means by 'governance.'Secondly, on international trade front Modi has to maintain the relationship he has established with all the nations. He advised the PM to look east and leverage the size of India's market.Lastly, he should encourage people like Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nitiayog itself to help with the labour market reform and the land market reforms.

According to him all of these can be done by setting up committees and tactical teams, which are being sorely missed.

Broadening horizon of relationship between Japan and India continues unabated. Both Prime Ministers will attend cultural-religious function at Varanasi today. Read news exract below:

Marking a new chapter in centuries-old ties between India and Japan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will visit Varanasi today.
The visit assumes significance as it comes against the backdrop of Partner City Agreement between Kyoto and Varanasi, Modi's Lok Sabha constituency, signed by the two leaders during the Prime Ministers visit to Japan in August last year. .............As part of the Agreement, colloquially called the Kashi-Kyoto pact, the ancient temple town will receive assistance from the former capital of Japan in overcoming its problems of traffic congestion, poor sanitation and crumbling infrastructure while preserving its heritage.

Is there a need of "Bullet Train between Ahemdabad and Mumbai", when the local heavily congested train network in Mumbai is causing accidents every other day?

Yes. it is the need of the hour to meet the need of growing speed of economic development. Slow traffic cannot accelerate much needed speed for saving time.

It is also agreeable that existing railway facilities and maintenance of infrastructure needs better look after and modernisation not only in Mumbai but also in all parts of the country.

But at the same time India cannot afford to loose pace with the fast growing modern world economy. This requires modernisation of railways too including introduction of bullet trains.

CBI Raids on an officer posted at the Delhi CM office decried by Kejriwal, who smacks PM's hand in it; whereas Mamata Banerjee, CM West Bengal equates these raids to 'emergency.'

However CBI claims that the raids have nothing to do with the CM as the case against the concerned officer has been filled and they are just conducting raids on him to gather evidence.

Clarification by FM in the Rajya Sabha on the issue on CBI lines also does not satisfy Delhi CM.

This happening reveals how on tight rope the CBI has to tread when political persons jump into matters being investigated by them !

Comments of the readers are welcome.

Recent stop over at Lahore by PM Modi while returning home from Moscow via Kabul is criticised as a vain attempt by India to improve relations with its counterpart whereas BJP spokesperson appreciated it as a path breaking event.

"BJP on Saturday while calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surprise visit to Pakistan as a "transformative moment" in the subcontinent, said that it has provided yet another opportunity to write a new chapter in the difficult Indo-Pak relationship. It even rejected Congress's criticism as "childish." The party which praised Modi for his "vision, imagination, courage and skill," said that the pursuit of peace in the complex region with its history of fraught ties between the two countries required such courage. While addressing a press conference BJP spokesperson M J Akbar noted that it required "two authors reading from the same page" to write a new chapter while asserting that the peace process between the two neighbours has been revived in an "extraordinary" manner.Warm personal relation between Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif is "symptomatic" of the "diplomatic thaw" that has taken place, he said."The party expresses its deep admiration for the Prime Minister for his courage, vision, imagination and skill in creating a transformative moment on the sub-continent."Search of peace does not meant that we have already found it. But the process particularly in a region with as many complex problems as ours, history as ours; the pursuit of peace, always a fragile commodity, requires kind of courage shown in Lahore," Akbar said and also admired Sharif for his leadership.''

This means results of the visit will be shaped on the mercy of extra-constitutional authorities of Pak.

Hundred Percent correct. Only ISI and Pakistan Army will be decisive factors in shaping up the future dialog between two countries. Unlike India, Pakistan foreign policy is driven by these two bodies. So their role can't be ignored in any future peace talk with Pak.
