Asara
Asara (असारा) is a large village in Baraut tahsil of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. This village is considered now a village of Mule Jats (Muslim Jats).

Pincode of the village is 250623. It is situated 22km away from Baraut town and 40km away from Baghpat city. Asara village has got its own gram panchayat. Loomb, Koori and Tilwara Sakin are some of the nearby villages.

Mention by Pliny
Pliny[1] mentions Ethiopia....Bion makes mention also of some other towns situate on islands, the whole distance being twenty days' journey from Sembobitis to Meroë; a town in an adjoining island, under the queen of the Semberritæ, with another called Asara, and another, in a second island, called Darde. The name of a third island is Medoë, upon which is the town of Asel, and a fourth is called Garodes, with a town upon it of the same name.
चौहान खाप
18. चौहान खाप - उत्तर प्रदेश के जनपद बागपत में चौहान वंशी लाकड़ा गोत्र के जाटों के 5 गांव रमाला, किरठल, लूम्ब, तुगाना और असारा बसे हुए हैं. यहां के लोग अपने को चौहान लिखते हैं और इन 5 गांवों की यह चौहान खाप है. इस खाप का मुख्यालय रमाला गांव में है. इस खाप के गांव तुगाना की बड़ी चौपाल से भूतपूर्व प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी चरण सिंह को स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दौरान पहली बार हथकड़ी लगी थी. इसी खाप पर गांव किरठल में उत्तरी भारत का प्रसिद्ध गुरुकुल है. यह खाप पृथ्वीराज चौहान की वंशज है. असारा गांव अब मूले जाटों की श्रेणी में आता है. राधेश्याम चौहान (जाट गरिमा पत्रिका के प्रकाशक), अपूर्व कुमार आईएएस किरठल के हैं तथा लेखक भी इसी खाप से संबंध रखते हैं.[2]
