Mahabharata mentions Ashvatara (अश्वतर) in verses (N) (I.31.10), (I.35),(II.9.9),(V.103.9), (V.101.9)/(V.103),


Udyoga Parva/Mahabharata Book V Chapter 101 mentions that the foremost of cities Bhogavati resembles the Amaravati. It is ruled over by Vasuki, the king of the Nagas.....Ashvatara is listed in verse (V.101.9) [2]
