विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है .....बाजितपुर (AS, p.620) बिहार में बेगूसराय के निकट स्थित एक छोटा-सा ग्राम है। कहा जाता है कि मैथिल कौकिल विद्यापति की मृत्यु इसी स्थान पर हुई थी। इनका जन्म स्थान विसपी है।
