Balbir Singh Malik

Major General Balbir Singh Malik is a retired officer from Scinde Horse Regiment. was born on 19th September in 1935 at village Bhainswal Kalan in Sonipat district, Haryana.


His father Late Capt Asha Ram Malik. Gen Malik did his initial schooling from Govt School Bhainswal Kalan then moved to a school in Ahmednagar for one year . After this he joined RMS Dehradun and completed his studies from there only. Thereafter he joined Army through Joint Services Wing and Indian Military Academy Dehradhun. He was the 1st Jat to win sword of honor at IMA in 1955 & got commission in 17 H. He retired in 1991 after completing his tenure as Commandant of Armoured Corps. His son Colonel Bikram Singh Malik retired from the same regiment . His daughter in law is para olympian Deepa Malik . He is living his retirement life at Ahmednagar.
