विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ... 2. भागलपुर (AS, p.663) = उत्तर प्रदेश, भटनी-इलाहाबाद रेल शाखा पर तुर्तीपार स्टेशन के निकट है. यहां एक खंडित स्तंभ है जिस पर 10 वीं सदी की कुटिलालिपि में एक अभिलेख अंकित है. इसके ऊपर उस समय के प्रसिद्ध तीर्थ यात्री नगरध्वज जोगी का नाम उत्कीर्ण है. नाम के आगे 900 का अंक है जिसका संबंध हर्ष संवत से जान पड़ता है. स्थानीय लोकश्रुति से विदित होता है कि मझौली परिवार के पूर्वज राजा भिमल ने इस स्तंभ को बनवाया था.
