Brah or Brah Kalan (बराह/ बराह कलां) is a village in district and tahsil Jind in Haryana. It is 10 kilometers away from Jind city.

History

The name 'Brah" of the village is believed to be derived from "Varaha" According to the Vamana Purana, this well-known tirtha was praised by Vishnu and bathing here is considered as helpful in the attainment of final beatitude. The Padma and the Mahabharata inform us that it was the place of Vishnu who stayed here in his boar incarnation(known as varaha). A stay at this place is considered equivalent to the benefit of an Agnistoma sacrifice.
