Ch Tika Ram Dahiya (चौधरी टिका राम) was social worker and leader born in Mandaura Sonipat village in Sonipat district in Haryana. He was disciple of Sir Chhotu Ram. Ch Tika Ram was Parliamentary Secretary (minister) in Unionist government in 1937-39 in Punjab, and later Revenue Minister. He met Ch Charan Singh whose draft Agriculture Marketing Bill for UP was adopted by Ch Chhotu Ram in 1938 and implemented in Punjab.

Early Years

He was MLA of Pre-Partition Punjab Legislative Assembly and was a prolific writer too. He was quite articulate in raising the issues related with the problems of the farmers. He was the first author of the biography of Sir Chhotu Ram in English soon after passing away of his senior colleague and patron in the Unionist Party.

Contribution in Education

He donated the gate of his house for the construction of girl's college.

Tika Ram College of Education, Sonipat was established in the year 1975, in the memory of late Ch. Tika Ram, who was a devoted follower to the Ideals of Sir Chhotu Ram. It is one of the Six Education Institutions run by the Tika Ram Education Society, Sonipat. The college is a co-educational institution. Tika Ram College of Education is run by Tika Ram Education Society, a registered society.
