Chaudhary Dilip Singh Sehrawat from Chirag Delhi village was very popular shayar and poet. He has recited his shayari on many public stages and on Radio channels. He was awarded the title of “BADAL” from the then Prime Minister of India. He did under graduation and double M.A from St. Stephen's College of University of Delhi. He became professor of English, Urdu and Farsi(Persian). He has inspired and helped a lot of people from his village and nearby villages(guhand) to take up teaching as a profession.

Family

He belonged to Zameendar family and had lands where now Malviya Nagar and Greater Kailash are situated.

There are many teachers in his family and relatives, his son went to pursue education in France during 1980s. Dilip Singh was very social man and everyone respected him.
