Chaudhary Mehar Singh Dangi

Chaudhary Mehar Singh Dangi was born in village Madina in district Rohtak in [Haryana]]. He played an important role in the freedom movement and went to jails several times due to his role as bhajaopdeshka role. He suffered imprisonment for six months in the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930 and one year or a fine of Rs. 1,000/- in 1932. Again he was convicted and sent to reformatory jail in Delhi for 5 years in another case the same year.

He participated in the Asauda Satyagraha in 1938-39 and suffered one year jail under the D.I.R. in 1940. Again for his participation in Quit India Movement he remained behind bars for one year. He took his last breath in 1983.
