Chitrayudha

Chitrayudha (चित्रयुध) was a Kaurava prince who laid down his life in the war. He was one of the Kshatriyas, who had attended Swayamvara of Draupadi. (Mahabharata:1.177.10)[1]

Chitrayudha fought Mahabharata War in the division of Kauravas. Bhisma Parva, Mahabharata/Book VI Chapter 20 shloka 13 mentions Chitrayudha.

  • शारदवतश चॊत्तरधूर महात्मा; महेष्वासॊ गौतमश चित्रयॊधी
शकैः किरातैर यवनैः पह्लवैश च; सार्धं चमूम उत्तरतॊ ऽभिपाति (VI. 20.13)

Chitaria (चितारिया): This gotra started after Maharaja Chitrayudha (चित्रयुध)[2]
