Chausal (चौसल) or Chosla (चौसला) is village in Nawa tahsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan.

Location

Pincode of the village is 341509. It is situated 22km away from Nawa town and 180km away from Nagaur city. Being a large village, Chausal has got its own gram panchayat. Bangarh, Bhatipura and Kooni are some of the nearby villages.

History

It was founded by Ranwa Jats. Sahajarao was the ancestor of Ranwa gotra who left Nagaur in vikram samvat 1111 and founded village Saamikhera and constructed fort and Shiva temple there. Later on 12 sons of Sahaja founded the villages Jachas, Bhikhanwasi, Khanadi, Karkedi, Maulasar, Makrana, Bai, Buchyasi, Bhurbhura, Jabdinagar, Chausal and Hirani.
