Ghasoi (घसोई) is an ancient village in Bhanpura tahsil in Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh.

History

It was known as Ghoshwati (घोषवती) in ancient times. It is 75 km from Mandsaur and 10 km from Suwasara. Its PIN code is 458888. [1]

Toran Warda Ghasoi: Toran means pillar and warda means hillock, so this pillared hillock is locally known as toran warda. Once there existed four jain pillars of Paramara period, but now only top portion of the pillars is available. These pillars are square and their tops are round. Below it the footmarks of Tirthankaras are carved in the rathika on the square portion. An inscription is engraved in danda portion below the Tirthankars. These pillars seem to have been installed in memory of Jain Monks and are dated to around 13th century A.D.[2]
