Jhanswa (झान्सवा) is a village in Salhawas tahsil of Jhajjar district in Haryana. Earlier, it was part of Matanhail tahsil.

Location

Jhanswa is 1 km away from village Mohanbari and is also called as "झान्सवा खुर्द ". Mohanbari village is also called Chhota Jhanswa (छोटा झान्सवा). The village is about 35km from Jhajjar and 58 km from Rohtak. This village falls under "Sahlawas" Vidhan Sabha constituency for Assembly elections and under Rohtak Parliamentary constituency for Lok Sabha elections.

The neighbouring villages are Mohanbari or Chhota Jhanswa (छोटा झान्सवा), Jhadli, Sasrauli, Goria, Matanhail, Akeri, Ladain, Bahujholri, Bajitpur, Khanpur Khurd, Khanpur Kalan, Naugava, Chhuchhakwas and Salhawas.


People of this village have got an advantage now-a-days because some of their agricultural lands are acquired by Govt. of Haryana for building a power plant. With this sudden increase in cash-flow, rate of crime has increased in the area. But some wise people are utilising money by investing it in other ventures.

History

Mohanbari village has got birth from Jhanswa and they still have families at Jhanswa and go to each other's family functions. Even Jhanswa (झान्सवा) and Mohanbari villages have common "paane" which are "Kuchhlan", "Chhaban" and "Hamman". Each "Paana" have their ancestoral families in each other's village.
