Kadaura (कदौरा) is a town in Jalaun District in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Bawani (बावनी) was a princely state in Jalaun district of Bundelkhand in Uttar Pradesh. In British India, Kadaura was the capital of a princely state which had been granted an 11-gun salute.

Kadaura is located at 25.98°N 79.85°E.

History

During the British Raj era, Kadaura was the capital of Baoni State. It was one of several princely states of the Bundelkhand Agency and was ruled by descendants of the Asaf Jahi ruling family of former Hyderabad State.[1]

बावनी रियासत

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ...बावनी (AS, p.625) बुंदेलखंड, मध्य प्रदेश में अंग्रेज़ शासन काल के दौरान एक रियासत थी। इस रियासत का संस्थापक नवाब ग़ाज़ीउद्दीन था। यह हैदराबाद के निज़ाम और दिल्ली के मुग़ल बादशाह का मंत्री था। यह कहा जाता है कि जब ग़ाज़ीउद्दीन अपने पिता से रुष्ट होकर दक्षिण की ओर जा रहा था, उस समय पेशवा ने उसे यह जागीर दी थी। ऐतिहासिक तथ्यों से यह जान पड़ता है कि जब गाजीउद्दीन ने 1874 ई. में पेशवा से संधि की तो उसने कालपी के पास ग़ाज़ीउद्दीन को बावन गाँवों की जागीर दी थी। बावन गाँवों की इसी जागीर ने कालांतर में बावनी रियासत का रूप धारण कर लिया।
