Kalri (कालरी) is an ancient village in Rajgarh tahsil of Churu district in Rajasthan.

The Founders

Kalu Punia founded Kalri village hence the name Kalri.

History

There were two Punia brothers: Kalu and Hamira. Kalu Punia founded Kalri village and Hamira Punia founded Hamirwas.

This is is an ancient Village. Excavations reveal about the statues of Pashupatinath. Traces of ancient pottery are also seen under the mounds.

Village is inhabited mainly by Punias.

Population

As per Census-2011 statistics, Kalri village has the total population of 2245 (of which 1159 are males while 1086 are females).[1]
