Kapileshvara (कपिलेश्वर) is a Saivite pilgrim located at Tirupati in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. Another Kapileshvara is situated in village Husainpur near Madhubani in Bihar.

Kapila Theertham is a famous Saivite Temple and Theertham, located at Tirupati in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. The idol is believed to be installed by Kapila Muni and hence Lord Siva here is referred to as Kapileswara.

The temple stands at the entrance to a mountain cave in one of the steep and vertical faces at the foot of the Tirumala hills which are part of Seshachalam Hills, where the waters of the mountain stream fall directly into Temple Pushkarini known as "Kapila Theertham". A huge stone statue of a seated bull "Nandhi", Shiva's steed, greets devotees and passersby at the entrance to the temple.

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[1] ने लेख किया है ...कपिलेश्वर (AS, p.135) मधुबनी (बिहार) से पांच मील (लगभग 8 कि.मी.)उत्तर-पश्चिम हुसैनपुर ग्राम में स्थित है जिसे कपिल का आश्रम कहा जाता है। कपिल में एक प्राचीन शिव मंदिर है जिसे कपिल जी का स्थापित किया हुआ बताया जाता है।

2. कपिल पर्वत (AS, p.133): विष्णुपुराण (2,4,36) के अनुसार कुश द्वीप का एक भाग या वर्ष जो इस द्वीप के राजा ज्योतिषमान् के पुत्र के नाम पर कपिल कहलाता है।

Vana Parva, Mahabharata/Book III Chapter 81 mentions names of Tirthas (Pilgrims). Kapila Tirtha is in Mahabharata (III.81.38). [3].... Leading a Brahmacharya mode of life and with concentrated soul, one should proceed next to the tirtha called Kapila tirtha (कपिला तीर्थ) (3.81.38). Bathing there and worshipping one's own Pitris and the gods, a man earneth the fruit of the gift of a thousand Kapila kine.
