History

Ram Sarup Joon writes...At present, there are five villages of Takshak Jats in this area viz. Mohammed Pur, Manirka, Shahpura, Haus Khas and Katwaria.

Monuments

It is site of famous Baba Gorakhnath temple. A fair is organized on Baisakhi every year.

Notable persons

Shaheed Jeet Singh Sansanwal - A road in Katwaria Sarai, New Delhi- 110016 is named after him. He laid down his life in Indo Pakistan war.
