Khakhas (खखास) Khakha (खखा) is a gotra of Jats.[1]

Origin

History

H.A. Rose[2] writes about Khakha (खखा), said to be a not uncommon epithet to apply to any petty Khatri trader. The Khakhas are in fact Khatris converted to Islam, and are found in greatest numbers in the Kashmir hills, lying along the left bank of tho Jhelum; whence a few have made their way in to Hazara and Rawalpindi. Sir George Campbell called them "a curiously handsome people.
