Khuldabad

Khuldabad (खुल्दाबाद) is a city and a Taluka of Aurangabad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a holy and spiritual city of Islamic saints.

Khuldabad is located at 20.05°N 75.18°E.
Variants
History
The place has not only religious importance due to the location of tombs of some Sufi saints, but has also historical importance. It is here that Emperor Aurangazeb, the last of the Mughals lies interred. Aurangzeb, was described in official writings by the posthumous title of Khuld-makan (‘He whose abode is in eternity'). Here are also buried Azam Shah, Aurangzeb’s son, Nizam-ul-Mulk Asaf Jah, the founder of the Hyderabad dynasty, his second son Nasir Jang, Nizare Shah, king of Ahemadnagar, Tana Shah, last of the Golkonda kings and a host of minor celebrities. The place contains from 15 to 20 doersed tombs and about 1400 plain sepulchre. Khuldabad was once an important and prosperous town. The gardens which surround many of these tombs are overgrown with bushes[1]
खुल्दाबाद
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ...खुल्दाबाद (AS, p.257) औरंगाबाद ज़िला, महाराष्ट्र में स्थित एक महत्त्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। यह दौलताबाद से 4 मील (लगभग 6.4 कि.मी.) की दूरी पर पश्चिम में है। यह नगर अनेक बादशाहों, दरबारियों एवं संतों का समाधि स्थल है। यहाँ की समाधियों में चिरनिद्रा में सोने वालों में मुख्य हैं-

खुल्दाबाद तालुके में मुग़ल बादशाह औरंगज़ेब के बनवाए हुए 'फ़रदपुर' तथा 'अजंता सराय' (अजंता के निकट) और निज़ाम प्रथम की बनवाई 'जाम-ए-मस्जिद' और सालारजंग प्रथम की बारादरी स्थित है।
