Kohabar (कोहबर) is a historical place in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh. It is located in the valley of Sone River and known for prehistoric cave paintings.

History

A little higherup the stream from the Likhunia rock shelter is another shelter locally known as Kohbar.

Kohabara Nepal

Kohabara is a village development committee in Jhapa District in the Mechi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. Ram Chandre Khola, a stream, separates it from Khajurgachhi VDC.

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर ने लेख किया है ... कोहबर (AS, p.242) मिर्जापुर ज़िला, उत्तर प्रदेश का एक ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। यह स्थान सोन नदी की घाटी के अन्तर्गत आता है। यहाँ प्रागैतिहासिक गुहा चित्रकारी के कई उदाहरण मिले हैं, जिनमें नृत्य करते हुए पुरुष तथा अन्य पशुओं का आलेखन पाया जाता है।
