Langate (लांगेट) is a town and tahsil in Kupwara district of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Langate is a Town in Langate Block in Kupwara District of Jammu & Kashmir State, India. It is located 20 KM towards South from District head quarters Kupwara and 70 km from State Capital Srinagar. It is a Block head quarter. Langate Pin code is 193302 and postal head office is Langate . Langate is surrounded by Sopore Block towards East , Tangdar Block towards North , Rohama Block towards South , Rajwar Block towards North . Sopore , Baramula , Bandipore , Srinagar are the nearby Cities to Langate.[1]

Kazinag Mountain

Kajinag Mountain, located in Langate Tehsil of Kupwara District, forms the line of control between India and Pakistan. This splendid mountain, measuring 4732 m tall, remains snow clad for most of the year. The main attraction is the Kajinag Spring and Kazinag Glacier It usually remains snow clad most of the year. On the top of it stands the historical Kajinag spring and Satkohl Nag which have been providing water to Kehmil, Puhru, Mawar and Talar rivers of the district and some of the water goes to Pakistan through Nowkote.

Major Satish Dahiya (22.09.1985 - 14.02.2017) from village Nangal Chaudhary (Banihari), tahsil Narnaul of Mahendergarh district in Haryana lost his life in an operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir at Langate (Handwara) in Kupwara on 14.2.2017. But before succumbing to injuries in hospital, Major Dahiya made sure that all four terrorists are neutralised. He was originally from 13 Rashtriya Rifles but recently attached with 30 Rashtriya Riffles posted in Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.
