Village New Roshanpura (रोशनपुरा) (also known as Dichaon Khurd), is a village in South-west Delhi, near Najafgarh. It is located on Najafgarh-Gurgaon Road.

History

Village New Roshan Pura, also known as Dichaon Khurd, is an urbanised village in South West district in the Indian state of Delhi. Khurd and Kalan Persian language word which means small and Big respectively when two villages have same name then it is distinguished as Kalan means Big and Khurd means Small with Village Name. Dichaon Kalan is also located nearby.

It is adjacent to Dichaon Kalan (see Khurd and Kalan) in Najafgarh tehsil. It is inhabited mainly by Shokeen (also known as Shokhanda) Jat clan. It is a planned village with wide roads and all the basic facilities: proper water supplies, sewage etc. The village is comprised of well off families and Landlords who live their lives with simplicity and in service of humanity and social welfare.

This village has given many brave soldiers to Indian Army. Shaheed Ishwar Singh Shokhanda is one of them who gave his life in the service of nation during India-Pakistan war in 1965. A statue of him is also installed at the main open square of Village which continues to inspire the young brigade to do something for the country.

UER II (3rd ring road of Delhi) is also passing through the village boundaries making it super accessible from any part of the Delhi and Haryana. Delhi metro is at walking distance from the village making it easier to commute for the daily ongoing passengers. Nearest metro stations are Najafgarh, Dhansa stand metro and Dwarka metro station.

A huge number of youngsters are employed in prestigious Govt jobs and in multi national companies from this village including Principals, A grade officers and businessmen.

There are many colonies whom Village New Roshan Pura has welcomed around its periphery which got settled in the agricultural lands of the village namely Roshan Vihar, New Roshan Pura Extension Blocks A-Z, Prem Nagar, Ganpati Enclave, Roshan Mandi, Dharampura, Shiv Nagar, Sangam Vihar etc.


The village donated 22 Acres of land to Delhi government in 1988 to build college for them which is under construction.
