Radhapuri (राधापुरी) was a commercial city of the medieval period associated with the Gauda rulers in West Bengal.

History

Ancient Bhurshuit (Kansona-Rangamati-Sasankagrama-Penro complex) or Bhurishreshthika was a notable commercial centre of the medieval period, which might be identified with Radhapuri, mentioned in Prabodhachandrodaya. The villages of Kansona, Rangamati and Sasankagrama are located near the vicinity of Bhurshut.

राधापुरी

राधापुरी (AS, p.786): पश्चिम बंगाल की एक प्राचीन नगरी थी, जिसका उल्लेख 'प्रबोधचंद्रोदय नाटक' (अंक 2) में है। इस नगरी का संबंध गौड़ों से बताया गया है। प्रसिद्ध भारतीय इतिहासकार राखालदास बनर्जी ने इसे अपसढ़ अभिलेख में उल्लिखित उत्तर कालीन गुप्त नरेश महासेन गुप्त के राज्य के अंतर्गत बताया है।
