History

There is a temple on the banks of River Godavari dedicated to Navagrahas. Lord Ram is believed to have installed the idol of Saneeswara, Rahu, Ketu and Brihaspathi. There is also a Mangal Statue.

रक्षाभुवन (AS, p.774): ज़िला बीड़, महाराष्ट्र का ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। इस स्थान पर 1763 ई. में रघुनाथराव और माधवराव ने नवाब निजाम अली को हराकर, पहले पूना में नवाब ने जो अग्निकांड किया था, उसका बदला चुकाया था। प्रधानमंत्री विट्ठल सुंदर और उसका भतीजा विनायकदास इस युद्ध में मारे गये थे। [2]
