Ran Singh Talan (28 October 1905 – 30 June 1979 ) was a Freedom fighter. He was the friend of Sardar Udham Singh.

Early Life

Ran Singh Talan was born in Jat family in Talan clan. His father Mahendra Singh Talan was a Farmer Zamindar in the village. Ran Singh was a creative since his childhood. He chant bhajan in the morning.

History

Ran Singh paternal family is originally from Jalandhar in present-day Punjab, India. He was the eldest son of his father Sardar Mahendra Singh Talan. Since childhood, Ran Singh was a very responsible person. At that time the British rule was on India. Ran Singh was a patriot since childhood. At the age of 10, he had become a part of many movements. It was during the movement that he met Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh and was greatly influenced by them. Gradually Ran Singh became a good friend of Udham Singh. Jallianwala massacre happened in 1919. When Udham Singh went to London to take revenge of the Jallianwala massacre and he killed General O'Dwyer, his friends in India were arrested, out of which Ransingh Talan was also arrested. His father worried about him, but patriotism was in the blood.
