Historical Back ground

In south, it was a big challenge for Aurangjeb to win Golkunda Fort in Hyderabad. For this he was not getting ideas, finally he decided for GURILLA war . For this he needed people who could do it for him . He started a search for the people all over . Finally he founds Jats in and around Delhi , who could do this. He pleaded to them to fight for him , to which JATs agreed. An army of 700-800 JATs was formed. By showing amazing courage of bravery JATs conquered Golkunda Fort for him. After winning Golkunda Fort , Aurangjeb in happiness and for the security of fort gifted land to these JATs for settlement in and around Hyderabad. As the time passed , dynasties changed and land given to them decreased but the population increased. A time finally came , when the same JATs who won the Fort, their decedents became small farmer and labours.

Today there are around 40,000 JATs in Hyderabad from Ramdevguda to Nalagunda having history in their hearts but neither centre Govt nor state Govt has done anything for them . They are neither considered backward nor Telgu speaking people. As their colour changed with time so changed their Gotras , but in genes they have JAT blood. [1]

Jats gotras in these Jat people of Andhra Pradesh are Gulia, Mathur, Khainwar, Nunwar, Jakodia, Byaare, Hatinzar, Durwasa etc.

Smt Renuka Chaudhary, Ex. Central Minister is Jat from this community in Andhra Pradesh. Recently with the efforts of Renuka Chaudhary, these people have been included in OBC list for Job Reservation.

Renuka Chowdary Lights Father's Pyre

Reference - Greatandhra.Com 28 July 2011 Former union minister Renuka Chowdary has once again proved that she is a firebrand woman, literally. On Friday, Renuka lit the pyre of her father Air Commander S N Chowdary, who passed away in Hyderabad on Thursday. Since Chowdary has no sons, Renuka took upon herself the task of lighting the pyre of her father and performed all the funeral rites at Punjagutta crematorium. It is rather a bold decision on the part of Renuka; though according to Hindu customs, if a person does not have sons, his eldest son-in-law performs the final rites and daughters performing the same is not seen anywhere. But Chowdary always used to treat Renuka as his eldest son and groomed her like a bold commander. Moreover, she has a lot of attachment to her father and she took care of him till the last moment. And hence, she chose to perform the last rites.
