Dr S. S. Narwal is Agronomist and Professor, Department of Agronomy, CCS Haryana Agricultural University Hisar, Haryana. He belongs to village Kathura in Sonipat district of Haryana, under Gohana tehsil.

Childhood and Early Education

He was born in May, 1947 in Village Kathura, District Rohtak, Haryana. His father was in Army. He studied in Government High School in my Village till 8th class and passed Higher Secondary from Jat H.M.A.S. Higher Secondary School, Rohtak in 1964. He joined Haryana Agricultural University and passed B. Sc. (Agri.) in 1968, M. Sc. (Agri.) in 1970 and Ph D. in 1980.

Teaching Experience

He joined as Lecturer (Agronomy) in 1970 in Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. He possesses 36 years' experience of teaching [B. Sc (Agri.), M. Sc (Agri.), Ph.D. (Agri) classes as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. His Many students are in IAS, IPS and Indian Forest Service etc. He Supervised and Guided the Research of 50 M. Sc and Ph. D students.

He Subscribes to all Jat Magazines and have purchased most of the Books on Jats and Aryans. He wants to work for the welfare of our Jat community, interested people can contact him.

Allelopathy Research

S.S. Narwal is a Pioneer Scientist to start Allelopathy Research in India, to develop Sustainable Organic Agriculture (to minimise use of pesticides in Agriculture). He is the founder of (i) Indian Society of Allelopathy (1989) and (ii) International Allelopathy Society (1994).

I. National Fellow: Based on my Outstanding Research, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi awarded me National Fellowship (1995-2005). In India, there are only 25 National Fellowships, awarded to Outstanding Scientists for research in Frontier Areas of Science.

II. Allelopathy Journal: It is an International Journal, indexed in Current Contents and Science Citation Index and has completed 29 Volumes. It is only Journal on Allelopathy, world wide. Its Impact Factor is 0.793, calculated by Institute of Scientific Information (USA). Its Impact Factor is highest among the Indian Journals.
