Shabqadar is a town and tahsil in the Charsadda District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.

It lies 28 kilometres north of provincial capital Peshawar.
History
Shabqadar is a tehsil headquarter of Shabqadar Tehsil in Charsadda District. The famous attractions of Shabqadar are Shabqadar Bazaar and Shabqadar Fort.[1] The fort is made of mud and stone. It is designed by Sikh architect Tota Ram in 1837. Currently it is under the control of Frontier Constabulary and has 1800 personnel of the force are trained here. Former UK prime minister Winston Churchill once stayed at this fort during his service and part of expedition in the North West Frontier of India.[2][3]
Majority of the people living in Shabqadar are Pakistani but a sizeable population of Afghans also live here. Most are Muslims with small minority are Christians.
1920s : Shankargarh Fort (Now Known as Shabqadar Fort Near Charsadda in Pakistan.
Shabqadar Fort was built by S. Lehna Singh Sandhanwalia. Tota Ram was the Chief Architect under whose supervision it was constructed. It was called Shankargarh after the name of latter's son who was born during its construction. S. Lehna Singh Sandhanwalia also built the Akora Fort of Khattaks. Akora was the chief village of the northern Khataks, 25 kms from Naushahra and 18 km from Attock and one km from the right bank of the Kabul River. [4]
