Sihota () is a Gotra found among the Sikh Jats.

Sihota is a settlement some 10 km north-east of Komga and 26 km south-west of Butterworth, at the former Transkei border. Located in Amatole District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Of Xhosa origin, the name is said to mean 'secluded place'.[1]

  • Gurbaksh Singh Sihota (born:25.02.1944) (Lt General) played important role of bravery in 1971 Indo-Paak war for which he was awarded Vir Chakra. He had also participated in 1965 Indo-Pak war and was mentioned M-in-D in Despatch . Unit: 7 Field Regiment (Artillery).
